I finally made MY personal goal, and I really never expected to reach it. I got on the scale today before my shower and the numbers bounced around in the 140's and finally landed on...........150.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had always said my personal goal was to be 150 again, or just below 150 and I really thought if I can just get to 160 I would be doing good, so I am just estatic! I deep down inside never thought I would see it, and of course now I have strep throat, and have been sweating every night through 3 nightgowns a night with the chills/sweating and then sweating/chills thing. I almost cried when I saw 150!! I did go to the same day clinic today for my throat, and at the nurse practioner's office I weighed 148.9 with clothes on!!! My regular doctor's nurse was there, and she said I was looking really pale and skinny, so that was good, but also bad. I go get my staples out tomorrow, that doctor put in about 30 staples!!! I have never had them before, adn I suppose it was the quick/lazy way out, cause I wanted to be sewn up, cause now I will have those funky little scars with dots on either side HAPPY DAY!!! Deb

Congratulations Deborah! That is really awesome! I sure am sorry that you don't feel well. I had strep throat last year and it is miserable. Hope you feel better soon! Kathleen

I'm so glad you got your "innards" fixed up. Remember, it's not about the lbs. right now. It's great to lose them, but not that way. Please take care of yourself so you'll be strong for your plastics. Your body has been through so much. I worry about you out there without your Buddies to help you. We miss you!! Love, B

HEY DEB, CONGRATULATIONS ON MEETING YOU GOAL. WHAT A GREAT ACHEIVEMENT YOU'VE MET. SO SORRY YOU'RE FEELING A LITTLE FUNKY RIGHT NOW. STREP THROAT IS A REAL PAIN IN THE NECK (no pun intended) TO HAVE. I'M GLAD YOU GOT EVERYTHING ELSE STRAIGHTENED OUT W/ YOUR ABDOMEN. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE LITTLE SCARS, THEY'LL FADE IN TIME. YOU DON'T SAY IF THE DR. GAVE YOU ANY KIND OF MEDS FOR IT. MAY I SUGGEST GARGLEING W/ SAL****ER OR USE SOME CHLOROCEPTIC, BOTH WORK GREAT. DEB, TELL ME HOW DO YOU GET IN ALL THE FLUIDS DR. BYRNE WANTS US TO DRINK. I'M HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING IT ALL IN. I FEEL LIKE I'M SLOSHING AROUND. DID YOU HAVE ANY PROBLES W/ PLAIN WATER? I AM, SEEMS LIKE PLAIN WATER HURTS BUT IF I MIX SOME CRYSTAL LITE I DO ALL RIGHT. ALSO HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING ALL THE PROTEIN WE SHOULD HAVE. I DID ORDER THE ANY WHEY LIKE YOU SUGGESTED BUT HAVEN'T RECEIVED IT YET. WHEN DID YOU START EATING "REAL FOOD", NOT THE PUREED STUFF? WAS IT 4 WEEKS FROM YOUR SURGERY DATE OR 4 WEEKS FROM YOU DISCHARGE DATE. I'M GETTING TIRED OF JUST SWALLOWING AND NOT CHEWING. THANKS FOR THE HELP AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND HOPE YOU'RE FEELING BETTER SOON. DONNA, SFY

WooooooHoooooooo Deb!! I know that has to be a great feeling. Can't wait to get there. Can believe I am where I am now. It is going to take me some time to get used to this weight loss. My head still feels like I am 280 or 300. You look great!! I know your hubby is getting a little nervous. You are a knockout. My goal is to look as good as you in the end!! I will be happy. Congratulations. Hope your throat gets better soon and you get all those staples out. Theresa

Deb ... Reaching your personal goal is something I can't even imagine yet! Congratulations!!! Sorry you've been sick though. I had a 35 staples along my incision when I had my gall bladder removed in an open procedure in 1999. It looked monsterish at first, with all the dots on either side, but now (7 years later) it's the same color as my skin and is not too terribly bad. "Time heals all wounds", right? Congrats again on reaching your goal ... you inspire me! Dawn
