APPROVED!!! Tummy Tuck and Breast Reduction!
hi all..well i did get my approval back from Tricare..APPROVED!!
My BR sx is on DEC 11th (not far away at all...)
And my TT is scheduled for Feb 13th..( still mentally not 100% on if i'm gonna get this,,,) The plastic surgeon said i'd be better off than where my stomach is now even if i do have more children, so i'm weighing my options..but leaning towards doing it!
YIPPEE!!!
Just had to share my excitement!!!
Oh, and i'm in Germany, and the plastic surgeon was highly recommended by several friends, the hospital is a private one about 3 miles from my house, and my mom arrives dec 6th-jan 9th and will be here to help me recovery and care for Mahaley (22 mths old)...

BIG CONGRATES!!!
Now if you don't mind I would like to pick your brain. I also have Tricare (military if that makes a difference) as my insurance company and was wondering how did you get Tricare to pay for you plastics? I've heard get could be a big pain. Course I am miles away from needing a TT, still working on getting my surgery. I was just wanting to get your tips on dealing with Tricare for future use. From your post I see that you also want more kids. That was one of the reasons I put off having WLS in the first place, but after having problems with my first pregnancy I decided to ahead with the surgery. Do you have any concerns about future pregnancies?
Thanks for you time,
Jamie

Hi Jamie! I too have Tricare Prime and I was approved for a TT, I haven't tried to get the BR approved and not sure if I am going to. The TT was fairly easy. I went to my PCM on base and she referred me to the the plastic surgeon. He them submitted pics and paperwork for a TT and thigh lift, the thigh lift was denied but the TT was approved. I am having my TT done on Monday the 20th.
Good luck with your journey! Any questions feel free to ask.
Britt
AWESOME!!!
Where aer you going to get it done?? Weisbaden or Kaiserslautern (civilian I know). German hospitals are CLEAN!!! If you think Saturdays are cleaning days, well, just imagine hospitals there. My friend had a baby off base and that hospital was the cleanest I had ever seen!!
I probably could get approved if I went to another doc, but I want to go to Fuentes now, I love love him ;)
CONGRATSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pics when you can before/after!!

Yeah!!!!!!!!! I hope to be doing this in the beginning of 2008, and I'm already excited, LOL!!! I was so excited for you, I first missed the bottom of your post and was going to ask who was going to do your surgery here in Cola, but glad I figured that out before I posted. Hope all goes well, and good luck!!!!
Thanks everyone!! :> It is pretty exciting and sometimes I can't believe that I'm on this end of the WLS journey.
Regarding Tricare Prime, I like you heard the same stories..I either heard it was super easy..or heard it was near impossible ( don't ya love the contrast in those two options..) I do believe though it is true.
The only thing I can tell you is that:
1. I documented every 1-2 mths at my PCM office that I was having a rash/backpain/sweating issues in these areas ( tummy/breasts) and kept the medical paper trail going.
2. I had no glitches, no denials, or anything..I saw my surgeon on a Monday. Tuesday AM I took the 2 letters he wrote on my behalf ( he had a seperate letter for both the TT and BR) to the Tricare office personally. By Thur 3pm that same tricare person called me and said I was approved!
Thanks again all on the congrats!!! :> YEE HAW!!
