Uh oh...I think I'm grazing.....

I understand. I can eat more than 4 ounces but it is usually stuff that is liquidy or soft. I guess it goes on through faster. I too need to measure more often. I was scared I had stretched my pouch out but then i just eat something like chicken and I am reminded of how small and pissy my pouch can get. I need to talk to Dr. Russell I guess as well. Starches go down so much easier as does junk food. I have avoided sweets but the chips...well....that's not so easy. I'm looking for substitutes for those things I like. Hang in there Mary. AS FOR CHIPS, TRY QUAKER SOY CHIPS ... UNFORTUNATELY, THEY COME IN A SMALL BAG & THE COST IS ABOUT $1.65-1.85 FOR A LITTLE BAG, BUT YOU GET 5 OR 7 GRAMS OF PROTEIN IN A SERVING & IT STOPS THE CHIP/CARB CRAVING. THERE ARE 2 FLAVORS ... BBQ & WHITE CHEESE ... I LOVE THE WHITE CHEESE. NOW, DON'T BE FOOLED INTO BUYING THE RICE CHIPS & CAKES ... NOOOO NUTRITIONAL VALUE AT ALL & NO PROTEIN. THEY ARE GOOD BUT NOT GOOD FOR YOU. GEN SOY HAS SOY CHIPS AS WELL BUT THEY ARE A LITTLE MORE "SALTY" FLAVOR THAN I LIKE ... BUT, THEY CAN BE FOUND AT THE VITAMIN SHOPPE & QUAKER SOY CHIPS CAN BE FOUND AT WAL*MART. AS FOR CRAVING CARBS ... THIS IS THE WORST TIME OF YEAR FOR THAT JUST BECAUSE OF THE NATURAL "HIBERNATION" CYCLE WE HUMANS GO THROUGH ... OUR BODIES WANT TO AUTOMATICALLY STORE MORE FAT IN THE WINTER SO WE HAVE TO BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS DURING THE WINTER. REMEMBER, CARBS CAUSE A CHEMICAL IN OUR BODIES THAT TELLS OUR BODY TO STORE FAT ... PROTEIN CAUSES A CHEMICAL IN OUR BODIES THAT TELLS OUR BODY TO USE FAT FOR ENGERGY SO WE LOSE WEIGHT ON PROTEIN. THE HOLIDAYS DON'T HELP BUT IF YOU'RE AT A PARTY, GO FOR THE SEAFOOD, THE MEAT PLATTERS, EVEN EGG & CHEESE BEFORE CARB GOODIES. THERE IS A TRICK TO CARBS AS WELL ... NOT TO GIVE ANYONE PERMISSION TO EAT CARBS, BUT LETS SAY YOU ARE AT A PARTY ... REMEMBER THIS ... "DON'T EAT CARBS NAKED" ... OK, QUITE THINKING NAUGHTY THOUGHTS ... ALL THAT MEANS IS IF YOU ARE GRABBING A CRACKER, BE SURE TO EAT IT WITH A PROTEIN OR A FAT, LIKE PUT A LITTLE SHRIMP SPREAD ON THE CRACKER. THIS DOESN'T TAKE AWAY THE BAD FROM THE CRACKER, BUT DIGESTING THE CARB & THE PROTEIN TOGETHER, SLOWS THE SUGAR/GLUCOSE REACTION IN YOUR BLOODSTREAM SO YOU DON'T HAVE THAT TREMENDOUS SUGAR RUSH & THEN CRA**** LEVELS OUT YOUR BLOOD SUGAR & SOMEWHAT LIMITS THAT TIRED FEELING AFTER EATING CARBS & SOMEWHAT LIMITS THE AFTER-SUGAR HUNGER. Hey, You noticed it at least, but from what you have written, you haven't eaten that much at all and remember back a few short months ago, what would you have eaten then?? You are doing great, don't be too hard on yourself and look how far you have come! Take care Deb

Rachel.. to me, that doesnt sound like too much.. Although im not 9 weeks post, but at the point i think i could eat that as well? .. i dont remember honestly. Only thing that "worries " me about u, (bc ur my GREAt friend is the fact u said u get hungry already. i had head hunger like a mofo, but not actual hunger kwim? .. i dunno if ur actually hungry or just feeling the "emptiness" or craving some protein in ur body?.. i have had a lot of stress lately and have found myself grazing and eating more carbs/calories than i should.. its been UGLY! So I have to get myself on track again and follow the rules which sucks but hey we didnt go through this surgery for nothing did we?!? and we dont wanna fail!! bc that would suck and we would be 10x worse than where we were when we started and feel horrible about being failures!!! lol.. SOOO We can do this girl! CALL ME when u wanna graze lol.. u might prevent me from doing it as well.. love ya!!!! Jen

I don't think it is HUNGER. I think it is more craving of things my body needs like water or protein. I even went all morning this morning before realizing I had no breakfast. I think I still have head hunger. I still love food and it is on my list of favorite things to do. Know what I mean? I'll call you. Rachel
