Hello, I am in Columbia, and I see all the posts on low country and upstate

I just don't see much active participation from the midlands. I am just starting my journey. I communicate with Tin****asionally, but would love to hear from others in the Columbia area. My surgeon will be Dr. *****ett (when I get that far), and I have been attending the support group at Baptist. Have a great weekend. It's still chilly today and I have on my slippers and long granny gown! Just used the Thanksgiving turkey carcass to make a pot of soup with onions, carrots and celery. Brr.

Hey there! I live in Lexington and Dr. *****ett was my surgeon. I had surgery on September 25 of this year. He is great and as you probably already know, everyone in his office is wonderful! If you ever wanna talk you can email me. I was wanting to get a group together to kinda meet casually but it never really worked...Just wanted to say hello and welcome! Jodie

We're here! ;) I'm in Columbia, and though I didn't have Dr. *****ett, there are a good number of us mid-staters on here. We just can't seem to get together like the upstate and coastal group do. You're very welcome to come to the support group at Lexington Medical Center, also; we meet the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 at Lexington Medical Park auditorium. Lisa

Hi I am pre-op right now but there are plenty of us on here. I had wanted to go to the meeting at the Lexington Medical Park on the 6th but my daughter had surgery and was unable to be left alone. Anyway - please feel free to contact me too. I don't post much yet - mostly just following everyone elses journey and getting ready for mine - I have family members paying for mine since I have no insurance and it seems like next year will never get here lol. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Nannie

Wow, you are blessed to have folks willing to pay for your surgery. They really want to keep you around, don't they? How awesome for you. I look forward to getting to know you. With Dr. Strickland's group, what all do you have to go through? Any psych eval, classes, etc.?

Dr. Strickland is my doctor also and yes you have to do the psych eval and some other tests also - and then attend their nutrition class and at least one of the support group meetings. Hope this helps some - I am just getting started myself so we can lend each other support.

Hello...I had surgery w/Dr. Strickland in April. You can read profile for more details and I also wish we could have more support. But I do enjoy the support at Lexington Medical Park the first Wed of each month. This has been the best decision for me I have ever made. Will pray for you and your success. In Christ, Joan M
