Hi everyone! I am new to this forum. A friend of mine told me about it and I have been looking around at it all. I have decided that I am finally going to talk to my doctor about WLS. I already know I am a canidate. When a DR first told me about it, I thought, no, it wasn't for me. And after a year of activly trying to lose weight and being unsucessful, I decided to finally do some research. I have a appt at the end of the month to try and get a refferrel to a WLS doctor. My husband is in the military and I already know that our insurance will cover it. So I guess I just want to hear some of your stories. How was your experience? I have a lot of weight to lose, and I am very short. Just very unheathy. I ahve a young daughter, (I am 24yrs old) and I have to get healthy for my family and I. I hope to get to know you all! Look forward to hearing your stories! Erica

Im very tall, 5'10 so my goal weight is about 165.. I have gone from a size 24/26 to 12 at American Eagle, and 10's at New York & co. which is crazy to me still I would do this 100 times over. WELCOME!! You have found the right spot. The people here are kind, understanding and very helpful. If you have a question they can't answer they can at least point you in the right direction. I too have a military hubby, and I'm putting the finishing touches on pre-op tests. I can't yet help with the post-op details but I'm here to if I can. I symphathize you researching, I know it took me a good year or two before I was sure this was right for me. It is a life changing event and should not be entered into lightly. Plus the more research I had the easier it was for me to get the from my family. I look forward to getting to know you better and again WELCOME! Hugs, Jamie
