YOU NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE ME, MS JEN ...
AREN'T WE BLESSED THAT YOU FEEL SOOOO COMFORTABLE WITH US!!!
OHHH GEEZ, HOW TO DELICATELY ANSWER THIS.
YOU'RE DESCRIBING HOW I WAS BEFORE SURGERY ... NOW, I'M ABSOLUTELY THE OPPOSITE, SOMETIMES TOO MUCH SO.
ARE YOU EATING A LOT OF FATS OR DRINKING CARBONATION, ALCOHOL OR OTHER THINGS THAT HAVE ACID? EXTRA SPICEY FOODS? OR, ARE YOU EATING TOO MUCH AT ONE TIME? THAT'S WHERE MY PROBLEMS WERE WHEN I USED TO BE LIKE YOU ARE NOW.
IT MAY BE A GOOD IDEA TO TOUCH BASE WITH YOUR DOC ... JUST TO BE SAFE.
GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

Can you say 'same boat'? But since I was diagnosed with IBS YEARS ago, I have not had a normal poop. I have bouts of what you are talking about. And it does not matter what I eat. Lady D is right, spicy food and foods with a lot of fat would set off my IBS as soon as it touched my mouth. Try adding fiber to your diet. Benefiber has a powder that dissolves in anything and has no taste. Benefiber also comes in tablet form which really does not taste bad. It will help regulate everything. Start with small doses and if that does not work, step it up until you are good to go, so to speak. This is what my PCP told me so you may want to check with yours to see what he/she says.
I hope this helps

My poop is normal.
I'll bring a sample to the next suport group meeting...
just kidding...
Kathy

I'm having the same problem -- occasionally things will be "normal" but otherwise, not so much! If you do decide to try fiber, DON'T take it with your vitamins! I had mixed Benefiber with water first thing in the morning and took my vitamins with it and it kept my vitamins from getting absorbed, so I got anemic....
Unfortunately, chronic diarrhea is one of the more common side effects of the surgery...

Before surgery I had that problem. Every time I ate something, I barely made it to a bathroom, then it was like water.
After surgery, I was all clogged up for about 10 days. Only going twice in those 10 days, I thought I was pooping cement. Now, for the past week I am back to pure water again.
Before surgery, I had started taking fiber pills, and they were great. I guess I am ready to start taking them again.
It seems to drain me so bad going so often. I feel like all of the liquids I get in, go right away every time I go potty.
Lets try the fiber pills. It worked for me before, I'm sure it will again.
