I NEED HELP!!!!
As you all know it has been 1 year since I had surgery. For the past several months the scales have not moved at all. What is really bothering me is that ive started in the last week getting on food binges. All of sudden I start stuffing my mouth with the wrong foods. I dont uderstand why all of a sudden ive started doing this. I never want to be big like I was. Can anyone that has had this problem and has been out at least a year give me some ideas on what to do and how to at least make the scales move another 10 to 15 lbs.
Crystal,
I've had the same problem. I started seeing the therapist I saw for my pre-op evaluation to talk about everything (is that an option for you?). She highly recommended some books, one of which is REALLY amazing -- Anne Katherine's Anatomy of a Food Addiction: The Brain Chemistry of Overeating: An Effective Program to Overcome Compulsive Eating. It's not a huge book but it's really enlightening. I just saw that Katherine has another book out, How to Make Almost Any Diet Work: Repair Your Disordered Appetite and Finally Lose Weight, which I think I'll try to order.
I want to lose another 10 to 15 pounds, too, but I've got to figure out what's going on that's making binge again -- I hadn't binged in years!
Don't know if this will help at all, but I know where you're coming from, and I feel your pain!

I am in the same boat. Right after I hit the 100 lb lose mark, I REALLY SLOWED down. I have only lost about 10 lbs since Oct. It is getting frustrating. I hear food journals work but I have never been one to write down every thing I eat. I always forget. It is nice to know that I am not alone.

Here is one that I got off this site a while ago. I can not remember if it was this board or the main. Let me know if it works for you. I just remembered I had it when you said you need a plateau busting diet. I am printing it out so I can start it to see if I can not jump start things again. I also do not excerise like I should. I just have a hard time finding the time. I need to.
Good Luck
Julie

I'm seeing a new therapist for the same reason. I am not quite a year out yet, I will be on the 29th, but I think since I have stalled in my weight loss, it has happened.
I still need another 6 pounds to lose until NORMAL and another 22 lbs before I reach my doctors goal.
Whoever can figure out the cure, please let everyone else in on the secret!!
We'll get through this. We just have to support one another.
Kathy
