Looking for more and more support
Okay, I am finally understanding this OH web, yes I can be a bit slow with new things. I do recognize some people from Monday nights support group at Dr. Bours office. Would really like to get more involved, although I must say that time is an issue for me must like most people. So, I am thinking this is a way to help with that time issue. I had surgery on Nov. 7, 2006 and seeing results each morning in my clothes, which is good and a challenge. Spring and summer are coming and I am likely to be naked if I don't find out the best places to go. I have hit Good Will, any other suggestions. Okay and I know that this subject has been addressed a million times but since it is just now affecting me, I am now very interested. MY HAIR IS FALLING OUT! And I did not have much to start with. Any suggestions?
One last thing, if there is anyone out there that exercises at Fitness 19, I would love to buddy up. I usually go most mornings about 7:30 am and some on the weekends. Love to hear from anyone that may be interested in working out together. Needing someone to push me to the next level.
Pray that you each have a beautiful weekend.

HI Linda!!
Glad that you made it to the website. You will get tons of support here. Hopefully, you can make it to one of our meetings after Dr. Bour's on Mondays.
As far as the hair falling out....it is going to happen. I never did anything different or took supplements for it. I know some people have. Just get your protein in!!!! That is the big thing!!!!
We bring clothes to our meetings and swap them out. That helps out tremendously as we all change sizes so fast. Hopefully, you can join us!!! I promise you will have a great time and be so glad you did!!!

Welcome to the boards. There is a place on Pleasantburg Dr. across from the old Shrinners Hospital (its now an assisted living facility), and next to the Big Lots. I think it is run by Safe Harbor, not sure, and I can't think of the name either. Last time I was in there, their clothes prices were cheaper than GW. Try it out and see what you can find. I have been thinking about joining Fitness 19, but it would be hard for me to get there that early in the morning. I would have to make it afternoons on the days I don't work. As far as your hair falling out, I have very fine, thin hair and mine was coming out before my surgery. I haven't lost much more yet. The only thing I have had a problem with is my eyebrows and other body hair. I haven't shaved my legs in two months, but, I also wasn't a hairy person to begin with. I started taking a hair suppliment abou two months before my surgery. It has a lot of biotin in it and you can buy biotin at any place that sells vitamins. Try it and see if it helps. I wish you luck and hope you will join us at our meetings on Monday's after Dr. Bours meetings.
Hugs!
Mary
Hey Linda,
Welcome to the SC board ...
Glad you're doing well following your surgery! Regarding your hair, I have no wisdom to share. Like you, I had little hair to begin with ... and at my 6 month post-op appt. with Mr. Handsome (Chris), my little baby ego was crushed when he did a double-take and heartily agreed that I certainly HAD lost quite a bit of hair. Sheeesh!!
Just try to stay patient and don't panic ... it WILL stop falling out. Even mine did. Can't say it's really growing back in yet, but at least it's not coming out in clumps anymore. It'll get better!
Come be with us at our "after-support" meeting next time ... looking forward to meeting you!

Welcome, you will have to say hi Monday night so we can meet!
The hair issue...I took Hair, Skin and Nail vitamins that I got at Wal-Mart. The are in a pink box! I also has a hair care product system thru my hairdresser. If you need some let me know, can see if they have any more, it is 35.00 but it really helps.
Also like Melissa said PROTEIN!!
You will love the boards and these wonderful people you have and will meet.
