IG or Whippet?????? I have a whippet mix or greyhound. I love WHIPPETS!!!! If you get down here and want a rescue I know someone who does whippet rescue! I LOVE DOGS!! Your doggies looked like angels, but of course all dogs are angels. My Lexus saved my life. I got her during a very difficult time in my life and she got me through just by needing me to take care of her. Sorry I am a dog person. Hence, the dream to have my puppy empire. I can talk about them all day long. You also have a beautiful family. Julie

hi Julie, Thanks for the kind words. She was an Italian Greyhound, but we did "rescue" her! She had been abandoned 2x before we were blessed with her. I used to always call her "my special little gift from god" (that was when I was still religious!!) She is/was oversized for an IG but all IG through and through. She filled my heart with love until her last day. Her bday is actually coming up next week 4/29 and my heart aches for her still. There is NOTHING like the love of a dog. I have never been blessed with children and I am still holding out. i think that maybe some day.... but those days are quickly coming to an end for a 'biological' child... but there are always hopes of adoption, so you never ever know what life will bring you. Yes, all dogs are angels. and I am so glad that Lexus saved your life and continues to do so. They are wonderful and they give us love that is unconditional! Unfortunately my two dogs are also one of the reasons I have no money.... lolol I am paying off loans until 2009, I think it is???? (they both got very very sick towards the end) but I would not change a thing when I came to those decisions. I would not make the comitment to have another four legged friend without another person though, or until I was in a stable job for a long time. But, I would like to seek out the possibility of volunteering once I get myself moved, and in my own place! I am afraid that I am going to probably be working 2 jobs for a while in order to manage, so having a dog will prob not be an option for me for a long time. (as much as that pains me to say/think!!) I do hope you will let me come over and visit with you and yours though!!! hugs, J.

You are being smart about not getting another dog until you are ready, both financially and mentally. I have always had dogs and always will, my mom was a vet tech, that is how we can afford the 5, yes 5, we have now. We get everything at cost. You also have to have the time. And if you are planning to work 2 jobs then you are correct and being a responsible pet owner by saying not right now. I can understand about going into debt taking care of the pups. I would open a vein if I had to when I found out that my lab, she was 2 at the time, might have needed knee surgery. It ended up that she was just a lab and likes to run after balls with everything she is. Crazy Dog! I put pics of them both on my profile yesterday. You are more than welcome to come and visit with any of mine. Like I said there are 5 of them, a Golden Retreiver - Marcy (14 yo - do not know how much longer we will have her), Sighthound/Lab Mix - Lexus (12 yo), Schnauzer Mix - Lucy (12 yo), Standard Poodle - Ellie (7 yo), and Black Lac - Shelby (5 yo). Which one you want? If you want, I get employment notices for The Citadel, where I work. I will be more than happy to forward them to you. The Citadel is the Military College of SC and a state support school. Great Benefits! Send your email address and I forward the next one I get. If you want that is. Julie

WE SHOULD HAVE AN LCBBuddies MEETING AT A PARK SETTING WHEN YOU ARE DOWN HERE ... &, WE SHOULD ALL BRING OUR POOCHES ... MS JULIE IS OUR RESIDENT DOGGIE EXPERT. WE RESCUED "NATASHA" (her pic is on my profile cuddling with Nick). SHE WAS ABUSED BY A MALE & WOULD COMPLETELY COLLAPSE ON THE FLOOR WHEN NICK CAME TOWARDS HER OR HIS VOICE BECAME ASSERTIVE. THE VET SAID THAT SHE WASN'T BEING SUBMISSIVE ... SHE WAS ACTUALLY BECOMING PARALYZED BECAUSE SHE WAS SOOOOOOOOO FRIGHTENED. BUT, NICK WON HER OVER. SHE IS SO MUCH A "DADDY'S GIRL"! SHE MUST BE SOME KIND OF TERRIER BUT IT IS SO HARD TO TELL CUZ HER TAIL WAS BOBBED & WE THINK FROM BIRTH OR FROM AN ACCIDENT. SHE JUST DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A BREED THAT USUALLY IS BOBBED. SHE HAS GERMAN SHEPARD COLORING, BUT HER FACE LOOKS LIKE A DOE, OR A FOX AT TIMES ... SHE IS SOOOO HYPER & IS ABSOLUTELY SO LOVING. BUT, WHAT A PAIN ... WANTS ATTENTION ALL THE TIME & WANTS TO CHEW, CHEW, CHEW. AT LEAST WE STOPPED HER FROM CHEWING MY HIGH HEELS AFTER 2 PAIR WENT IN THE GARBAGE. SHE'S REAL SMART BUT GET BORED SO EASY. GOTCHA ON THE COST ... WE BUY HER GOODIES, TREATS, FOOD & STUFF BEFORE OUR OWN FOOD ... THEN, WHATEVER $$ WE HAVE LEFT AFTER NATASHA'S NEEDS, WE BUY GROCERIES. IT IS DEFINITELY EXPENSIVE TO HAVE PETS NOWADAYS. GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

she is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE! wow! and I have to have to have to (did I say I had to??? lol) meet her and kiss her!? It says on your profile that she became a part of your family on 4/29.... WELL.... MISS DAWN.... That was my Nina's birthday..... So.. how is that for goosebumps???? Please give her a big hug for me when you see her next. I am terribly sorry that she was ever abused. There are two women that live in the apartment below me that have a rescue dog. She too was abused by a man, aparently. When they hear a male voice she gets that same paralyzed look. It is very sad. I just adore this little dog. I miss my dogs so much. When I was going through your profile (its very nice and informative by the way) I was reading it, and I was searching and searching and when I FINALLY saw your girl.... a big wide smile came across my face... so please.... can you just move her and hubby to the top of your profile??? LOL. hugs, J.

Hi...I was out late last night and didn't get a chance to look at your "babies" until this a.m. They are so cute. I have a cute little Boykin (the SC State dog) who is spoiled rotten (but my life line since my ex left). She definitely snuggles a lot better than him.. Your Mom and Dad look like inspirations....I know you must miss them being so far away. Can't wait to see you in June! Susann

thank you, Susann. I hope that since you were out this means you are feeling much better! Yes, my parents are truly inspirational. I spoke with them this morning....(it is evening there right now actually!) They are always giving and helping people. Some days I wish I had 1/2 the energy that they have.... lol I cant wait to see you either..... I just wish I actually had a ticket booked.... lol. Got to talk to my boss tomorrow or Tuesday. (unfortunately I have to attend a funeral in the a.m. and then try to reach my surgeon with ??s on clearance for travel in June) so we shall see....) i hope I get to meet your little Boykin! J
