Where are you in the process......

Good news!!! Well I'm excited. My hubby and I are losing. I am 12 weeks post-op and have lost 47 pounds. My husband is 15 weeks post-op and has lost 44 pounds. His weight stalls more than mine. We are very excited about our journey. Merlon & Solar

I HAD AN 11-DAY STALL SO FAR, MS MERLON ... THEY ARE FRUSTRATING, BUT IF YOU JUST KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS DONE, THEY DO END ... I HAVE TO SAY THAT MY BODY REALLY DID SHRINK DURING THE STALL ... WE COULD ACTUALLY SEE THE DIFFERENCE EVERY COUPLE DAYS. GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK

Howdy gang!!! Work and Hubby have had me so busy lately I haven't had time to spend with my board buddies but I have been thinking about ya'll!!! Congratulations to all the new members and the new post ops! Anybody heard from Carla ( 11/22)? DH is having back surgery (finally rescheduled) on Tuesday, 12/6/05!! Yeah!! Before the end of the year! Deductable's been met!! I am 9 months out and down 111 lbs. I had been at a stall for about 1.5 months. I have been bouncing between 170 and 173. Monday I finally broke past and hit 169! Another 19 and I will be perfectly happy with myself!!! Although I am pretty darn close right now. Leisa 280/169/150

Hi Sweetpea! Yes, he is chomping at the bit!!! He is starting to get a little stressed about the "recovery" pain but overall he is ready. We appreciate the prayers! I am sorry to hear that you have had problems. I hope everything is calming down now. I was extremely blessed not to have any issues like that. I read your post yesterday about Nick's dream... Amazing b/c Howie did the same thing to me Monday AM!!! Woke up and told me that he dreamed I was leaving and for good measure I had fixed him up with this "ugly girl" that he used to date. Evidently I told him that he had to be with her b/c that is all he deserved!!! Wow!!! What an evil thing to say!! Of course I soothed and cuddled and expressed my undying love and tried to convince that this was just a bad dream. But he had brought it up every morning until today. I told him last night over dinner about your post. I think you are right on the money with your advise about our loved ones. Make sure you give them the attention and cudos that they so truly deserve! Even the most secure of couples can experience this! Love ya dearie! Congrats on the weightloss!!! You are doing great! WHEN I TOLD NICK I WAS THINKING ABOUT POSTING ABOUT HIS DREAM, HE GOT REALLY EMBARRASSED. I TOLD HIM THAT I FIGURE AS CLOSE AS WE ARE ... IF THIS COULD HAPPEN BETWEEN US ... IT CAN HAPPEN WITH ANY COUPLE SO HE AGREED IT COULD BE HELPFUL TO POST. I GOT TO THINKING THAT IF THE TABLES WERE TURNED & HE HAD THE SURGERY & I WAS WATCHING HIM CHANGE ALMOST DAILY, I'D PROBABLY GET PRETTY INSECURE MYSELF EVEN THOUGH I KNOW HIS LOVE FOR ME IS UNCONDITIONAL. GEEZ, MS LEISA ... I JUST LEFT NICK IN HIS DREAM ... BUT YOU GIRL, WOWOW ... LOW BLOW HOOKING POOR HOWIE UP WITH AN UGLY GIRL ON TOP OF LEAVIN'!!!!!!!!!! What type of surgery is he having. I had a disc removed in 1987. Now I'm having problems again. I'm having numbness going down my legs. I went to physical therapy with no help. Was on steriods for a week. No help. Now on 12/12 I'm having a corizone injection. I have buldging discs and some pinched nerves. Hope he does great. Wendy Fowler

Hi Wendy! He is having a spinal fusion. He had disc removal in APril and ended up in more pain than before surgery. We are hoping this will help and get him back to work. I have had no surgery but have had back problems for years. NOw that my weight is down the difference is phenominal. I went through a shifting period where the location of my pain changed and was super concentrated but that is going away as well. My surgeon says this was due to my center of gravity changing with the weight loss. Makes sense when I think about my 280lb posture. Everybody says that I stand much straighter now. Good luck with the injections, I hope they work. Hang in there! Leisa

Hey all I am 16 months post op and I have lost 135 pounds, feeling great. Hubby is 10 months post op and has lost 120. Everyone keep up he great work. My life has had it's ups and downs, but the past year I have been on the good of the down side. Having the bypass was the best thing I ever did. Myrt
