How bad did I hurt my pouch?
YEAH, YOU SHOULD BE EATING ONLY ABOUT 2 -3 OZ AT A TIME RIGHT NOW.
DUMPING IS USUALLY RELATED TO EATING THE WRONG THINGS, LIKE WHITE CARBS OR REAL SUGAR FOODS. BUT, FROM WHAT YOU DESCRIBE, YOU'RE HAVING VERY SIMILAR RESPONSES TO EATING TOO MUCH.
I'VE DUMPED ON LIVERWURST REALLY BAD & IT TOOK ME 5 DAYS BEFORE IT MADE IT OUT OF MY SYSTEM. I WAS UNBELIEVABLY MISERABLE SO I FEEL FOR YOU. SO, YES ... IT CAN TAKE DAYS TO GET OVER SOMETHING LIKE THIS. YOUR SYSTEM DOESN'T DIGEST & PASS THE FOOD THROUGH YOUR SYSTEM AS QUICKLY AS IT DID WITH A COMPLETE STOMACH.
I'VE ALSO EATEN TOO MUCH TWICE BUT WHEN I DID, I THREW UP ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. FOR A DAY AFTER THAT, MY INSIDES WERE REAL TENDER.
NOT A PLEASANT THING TO GO THROUGH, BUT THAT'S BASICALLY ALL YOU CAN DO THAT I KNOW OF ... UNLESS YOUR NURSE CAN SUGGEST SOMETHING.
HOPE THIS PASSES QUICKLY FOR YOU, MS JANET.
GOD BLESS
DAWN & NICK

I ate shrimp early on, but, I pureed them. Water to this day still kinda hurts, it is very "Heavy" on the pouch for some weird reason. Try blending some propel with some ice, and eating it like you would ice chips, but make sure it is in icee type consistancy. We were all told by Dr. Byrne, to make sure all food is like applesauce consistency or even blended more than that.
Try the ice, it might help the swelling. I would eat teeny spoonfuls (baby spoonfuls) of blended ice.
Suck a popsicle....sugar free, that can help too.
You might need to call the floor where you had surgery and ask, they may want to see you to make sure you did not rip the sutures. The shrimp didn't rip them, but by throwing up, you put pressure on it, and it can cause you more trouble. To this day, almost 5 months po, the nurse was asking to make sure I was not throwing up because it can still cause problems.
Take care, and don't ever wait to call or go in. You went through a lot to get to this point. Remember, puree everything!
God Bless,

Thanks all..
I did finnally have a throw up session..and started feeling much better, and my husband brought me some Ice chips. I ate one hunk at a time, my mouth was so dry..he was worried to death..bless his heart, when he didn't know what else to do, he brought me a ho****er bottle and put it near my tummy and it felt good...I'm still feeling puny and I don't think I'll ever see shrimp exactly the same way..WAS one of my favorite foods..lol I don't know why, but I'm smelling strange smells..maybe because I was so sick?
Thanks again for your support..I'm so glad I have you all to turn to when I'm frightened. God Bless YOU!
