I'M APPROVED!
I live in Columbia (north east - 2 hour + drive each way) so it is really, really hard for me to get to meetings. My husband is a surgical resident and works 120 hours a week. I also have two kids.
How many do they require?
Also, do you have a pre-op meetings schedule? I don't have one, and I would like one. I want to do the minimum of meetings required. I know it sounds bad, but it is super hard for me to get there. It is going to be a killer for the once a week optifast class.
Girlfriend I understand that's a long way to travel...and not to mention 2 children and a honey that's a surgical res. WOW!!!
They require 6 preop meetings before they will schedule us for surgery...I believe these can coincide with the 4 wks of optifast...I'm not a 100% sure...The next meeting is the 1/30/2006 at 5:30 pm...they usually end between 7-7:30...the alternate every other week...so the next one will be on 2/13/2006 always at 5;30 pm, and so on... if you can come please do...they are so informative...they even have a chef on staff who will be teaching us how to cook healthy...our own Emeril (BAM!!!)
they are suppose to be setting up a full kitchen real soon.
Tonya

Tonya, I am going to try to make it to the meeting. Is it really bad if we take kids? I know they really don't want you to, and I don't want to, but I have no family here, and I don't have anyone to leave them with. There is just no way I can count on my husband being home by 3:30 so I can make it there. He is never home by 3:30. Dr. Bour's office has said they will do their best to work with me, but at the same time, I feel like they won't. It's very discouraging to have this huge weight obstacle, the money obstacle, and then top it off with requirements that are really difficult to meet.
I will do my best, and I hope I get to meet you on Monday
