Topic: RE: 2 days out and everything looks good
I had the bypass and I was able to have it laproscopically. I couldn't imagine how bad it would be to have the whole area opened up.

Topic: Anyone on SC Forum at WLS in Mexico???

Hi I am a self-pay, as I have BCBS State Health Plan, and it won't pay for any type WLS.  So I have been cking into Dr.s' in Mexico.

Just wondering in any of my LOCAL SC FOLKS had been to Mexico and what was your experience?

Thanks

Topic: 1 bag will do
Well, I had to go to ER today ( I was having breathing problems, a bad head ache,
vomitting, the runs, dizzy, and feel like i just couldn't move)  thinking I had a bug or something, and guess what it was dehydration.   I wasn't feeling well, and then I got sick from something I ate, and it just snowballed.  I was trying to drink but it kept coming up.....All the dr in ER here know me and know I have had surgery. so they check everything.  As soon as they gave me a bag of fluid  My head ache stopped, the vomitting stopped, no longer dizy and my breathing got better (I could cough up the phlem)  but I still have  the runs a little, so I just have to drink plenty and not eat until it stops .....I will be on liquid for a couple of days.   So now I know 1 bag of fluids sure will do the trick..  But that needle stick doesn't feel so good, so SIP SIP Sip  even if you are not a newbie.....and especially sip if you feel bad......later

Topic: RE: Anyone in the Greenwood or Anderson area??
We have a support group at Dr Bour's but it's for his patients only.  I live in Laurens and my sis lives in Waterloo near Greenwood,  I wish we had a support group out side of Dr B to go to too.....Good Luck finding one and if you do post it so we can go too....

If so, do you know of any support groups? I'm almost dead center of Anderson and Greenwood and that would be a lot more convenient for me, as opposed to driving to Spartanburg all the time.

Topic: RE: Did Anyone Use The Medicaid Plan First Choice by Select Health?
I have SC Medicaid, and I'm not sure which specific plan, I have, i'm pretty sure your plan will accept it. And it doesn't take long. The longest thing I had to wait for was finding a Psych. to do the eval. Then I had to wait nearly a month for them to finish the eval and send it to Dr. Ross. lol After that, it was 3-4 weeks, tops. Actually, I wanna say it was only 2-3 weeks.

Topic: RE: Any LAP or Realize Banders
Yes, I had the band on August 11, 2008 and have lost 40 pounds so far.  I went last week to have another fill and my doctor took out some saline when I explained I wasn't able to eat solid food and was relying on protein shakes.  He said that defeated the purpose of the band.  I can now eat small amounts of healthy food...Thank Heavens!  It is a challenge to find the "sweet spot".
Lots of Luck on your journey!
