Topic: RE: Internal Hernia???
Sorry I just realized that this was back in Jan. LOL. So how did everything turn out??
Topic: RE: Internal Hernia???
I actually had 2 hernias back in January and wound up having emergency surgery b/c some of the bowel was in it. I beleive it's called petersen...peterson hernias. There isn't anything bulging in your tummy just "hole" internally. I would say go for the CT now. I was very lucky that I didn't end up losing some of my bowels. My pain would kinda come and go but it also depended on the position I was in. My GP said it could have been my gallbladder or an ulcer..but the position thing didn't make sense and I really didn't even tell him that. I should have called my surgeon. Anyways the pain strarted 1 night and would stop so I wound up in the ER and went on to have emergency surgery that night. I hope that everything turns out ok. Let us know what happens. P&PT's.
Topic: RE: Any LAP or Realize Banders
Hi! I did have the lapband, but was revised to the Duodenal Switch about 10 months ago. I did not have a great experience with the lap band, but I have heard several people who have done well. I don't know that there are many of the SC forum that have had the band....when I had it, I mainly stayed on the lapband forum. It seems that the SC forum is mostly RNYers (and they seem super nice!).
Good luck with your Band!

Topic: Bariatric Surgery being started at St. Francis Hospital.
Just want to let everyone know that St. Francis Hospital, eastside ( womens), will be doing bariatric surgeries again. Dr. Anderson will be the surgeon. So anyone still looking for a doctor or undecided about who to use, this will be another option to consder. Since I work there, I thought I would give everyone a heads up on it. I do not have anything to gain from this other than job security, so I am not promoting either the hospital or the surgeon, just trying to be helpfull to those your are in the process of considering surgery and the options available to them.
Take Care!

I just got my tax rebate and would love to put some back for it , but husbend wants it for anouther reason. If i knew now I could let him know that I am going to need it. Please let me know if he does so that I can prepair for it.
Topic: RE: A quesion for Dr. Bour's patients...
I am 2 years out, and I think your diet changes as you move along...but I like to take a gallon zip lock bag, fill it 80% with Special K with protein and 20% maybe frosted flakes low sugar kind and a granola and just a pinch of cinnamon toast crunch. Mix it up! nothing says you have to eat 1--your cereal with milk or 2--the same cereal....try mixing it with all sorts of flavors-especially the low fat kind....makes for interesting snacks and does not burn you out on one thing
