I hadn't been on this site in so long it wouldn't "auto finish" the URL when I typed it.. LOL I think we all have just kinda been living our lives and haven't had much time to see each other and do like we used to!!! I miss everyone terribly. and like mary said the last meeting I went to was that psychologist (Who admitted she spies on here ahem) and its been AGES since then!
I would love to get together with EVERYONE rather it be a Tuesday or Weekend we are all free.. I will make a post now.. And yes we all have fought the demons of the scale! I went to put on my jeans this morning and they were almost too tight to put on and I am realizing I have GOT to get back on track and lose about 10 lbs i regained or I will have to buy bigger clothes and I refuse!!! LOL

Hey girls.... I thought I would crawl out from under my rock and say "ditto".
I miss you all and I miss our get togethers... I am having the same problems and
need to get back to meetings if not just for a kick in the butt.
If anyone wants to meet... let me know. I would love to see you all and to talk about
the problems that we are having and encourage each other. We have not failed... just
learning how to live with our new apparatus. It is not as easy as I thought it would be.
Love you all,
Pam

Hey girl, I'm still here, just been so busy with the holidays and now my husband had to have surgery and has been in the hospital for the past 6 days. He got home today, so hopefully things will get back to normal soon. I hate to hear your having problems, but I think most of us have at one point or another. I have gained 6 pounds over the past month and I need to get them off soon. I have the fear of it going higher and higher and refuse to let that happen. I haven't been to the meetings in forever either and Tuesdays suck for me, so I don't know when I will get back to going. I just wish they would offer them more than that one day, for those of us that have problems attending on Tuesdays. The further out we get the harder it is to maintain our weight, I find myself slipping back into old habits like eating out more than I use to do. One good thing is, if I eat too much I get sick as a dog and feel like crap for hours, so that keeps me on my toes and I splurged on icecream and got so sick I don't care if I ever eat it again. I think that's what makes me realize that what I'm doing is not good so hopefully I can get myself back on tract and drop what I have gained plus a few more. Call me if you want to talk or maybe we can meet somewhere one weekend and talk. We all need support and I really don't feel like we get that much from Dr. Bours like we use to. Every time I go it's the psych talking and it always seem like the same old thing over and over. Plus she looks like she could stand to lose a few pounds herself so it's hard to get into what she says if she doesn't even follow her own advice, lol.
I want to get back to exercising but is so boring doing it alone so I am considering going to Curves and giving that a try. I just need motivation again, it's depressing and scary and I'm tired of worrying so much about gaining weight. Anyway, keep in touch.
Love Ya!

Wooo Hooo! I am so proud of you, Barbara. I have been following your progress since the day that you and your sister put my mind and ease over my decision after hearing you speak during the post-op role modle support last year. You look great. I had a small wow moment today...only WLS patients would understand. I bought a pair of 14 jeans at the thrift store today and they fit great. I was in a 22 before surgery. I'm feeling pretty good, but I still don't eat the way I should. I probably eat 2-3 times a day because I don't get hungry at all during the day. I'm having a hard time figuring out what to have during the day to break the boredom. There's only so many ways to fix chicken and fish. I'm open to any ideas that you have and what you do during the day. I would also like to know what exercises that you are doing. I'm gettin batwings, flab between my thighs and, of course, the flabby tire around my waist. If I didn't have the belly flab, I could probably fit in a 10 or 12...honestly.
Anyway, just wanted to tell you how great you look and that you inspire me...still.
Take care and Happy New Year!
Wanda

Check out Dr David Voellinger in Charlotte -- southeastbariatrics.com
He does most/all of the surgeries. Not sure how much weight you are planning to lose, but please include the Duodenal Switch in your research.

I had Honey-baked ham, collards, black-eyed peas and corn bread. Plan to buy a bicycle in '09 and pedal away some pounds.
