Topic: Dr. *****ett/Tribble patients...questions
Hello,

I am hoping to have the lapband surgery.  I am currently working with Palmetto Health Baptist Weight Management Center to realize my dreams (pun intended).  I do not know what surgeon is going to be mine because it has not been communicated to me as of yet.  I have completed all that is required a little over two weeks ago. I have yet to meet my surgeon for my final consult.  That is the obstacle in the way for my info to be submitted to my insurance provider.   I don't have to do the 6mth weight loss because I was already on a regimen (CIGNA is my provider).  In this process I am learning to contact them is futile.  My questions are:

1) How long from start (1st appointment) to 2nd appointment/consult with Dr. did you have to wait?
2) How long after that was your info submitted for surgery?
3) How long did this whole process take?

I don't want to seem impatient.  A little communication would be great but I don't get that.  Anyone have any advice about this office?  Thanks in advance!

Topic: RE: SC State BCBS Insurance?
Is your BCBS under the state plan? my husband is in law enforcement and we are very interested in weight loss surgery for him but was told that BCBS did not cover the cost of the surgery. Any help would be great so we can have an idea of what to do :)

Topic: BariatricTV Episode 34 - Duh.. Feeling kinda Stoopid?
This week we crown one of our own an honorary FOW. Take our first look at post gastric bypass plastic surgery. Discuss the phenomenon of feeling a bit stupid after surgery – and finish things up with a cool summer dessert recipe.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • This weeks “Freak of the Week" is Mike or Big Mickey.
  • Why? Cause he makes Lynnda and Toni look like they know what they are doing.
  • We’ve decided to start a series on plastic surgery.
  • We answer the most asked question. That is “when should I have plastic surgery after weight loss surgery?"
  • We give you most plastic surgeons guidelines, which is to wait at least 18 months to two years after your weight loss surgery.
  • If you have questions regarding plastic surgery, send us email or post it on the forum and we’ll do our best to get you the right answers.
  • Feeling stupid after weight loss surgery?
  • We do eat a lot of brain foods like chicken, tuna, salmon, legumes, egg, cheese, and yogurt
  • 60% of our brain is made up of fat?
  • Maybe the serotonin levels in our brain is effected by our low carb diet?
  • It’s fruit season in California and we give you a great recipe using blueberries, strawberries and a past recipe.

If you haven'****ched an episode of BTV yet - what the heck are you waiting for?  This is a podcast for weight loss surgery patients created by weight loss surgery patients..

Come join the fun!!!

My doctor nor the insurance required any kind of weight loss program. I had proof of all my attempts at weigh****chers, diet pill doctors, and a complete history log that I had kept for about 3 years. Maybe that helped me.

BCBS of SC GOV"T and Federal Employee plans are fantastic!  Contrats!  So many people fall out of the protocol to surgery because of insurance!  BTW, how long did you have to go for a weight loss program? I hear its rather short.
