Hi, I'm from West Columbia and I've been considering Dr. Byrne at MUSC in Charleston as my surgeon.  His profile here is very impressive.  Anyone else have Dr. Byrne as their surgeon?  Any other recommendations?

I don't think it's about weight lose right now.  but it will be when you go on the liquid diet before surgery.  they set a weight for you to lose and you go for it.  I think right now you are suppose to just keep track of weight lose or gain.  I did lose 62 pounds before surgery  just cutting out soda's and going on 1200 calorie  but I was trying to get diabetes under control.  and I was huge. I just got a little healthier before surgery.  hope this helps...  But you should just ask Cammie, Lacy or Carmen  they can tell you what the insurance is looking for..

 I am doing my 6 month pre op history for Aetna insurance.  I was curious.  Are we suppose to be trying to lose weight during these classes and stuff ?  No one has said that straight out.  I do remember Lacey telling me at my enrollment visit not to really lose right now just b/c of the insurance (approval).  A bit confused.... any answers would be most helpful.

I am so sorry for your loss. I actually live in Myrtle Beach, SC and I drive to Garden City twice day to take my son to and from school. I have heard of a couple of bike accidents but unfortunately during bike week that is very common. I know this year we have had considerably less and I just spoke to a police officer this week who works the city right next to GC and he mentioned that he hadn't worked 1 wreck.

Again I am so so sorry  and I hope they find the person that hit him. You will be in my prayers!

He had only owned the motorcycle for a few hours before he was killed.  He bought it in Jacksonville earlier that same day.  It was his first Harley.  I do not have any pictures of him on that bike.  Not sure if I can get one of him on one of his others.  If i do, I will post it.
