Topic: What can I do to get a leg up?

The simanar was canceled and will not be avalible for me to go to for anouther month. I would love to get a head start and not feel like I am wasting anouther month wateing to begin the process. My GP will not do a diet with me. I Am happy with him but need anouther option. He recomended me joining WW or southbeach. I feel that this will be a huge wast of money and time. I am already watching what I eat now, and have tried diets in the past. I know that my insurance requiers a 6 month diet for approval and I feel that I need a doctor to do it to be approved though the insurance. I dont know were to start. Do I wate untill after the siminar wich is March 25th or do I try something first. Please any suggestions will be a great help.

Dr. Bour & Katie were both in there when I took my little quiz. Then Dr. Bour went over it with everyone. No problems as far as the quiz, it's the things you learned coming to group. One thing make sure you bring someone with you. If you don't he will ask you to leave. There was a Lady in our group and she didn't bring anyone.  Dr. Bour told Katie to ask her to leave.  So please take someone .

The test isn't a pass or fail type test, unless they changed it since I did it. All they do is pass out a paper with the questions, you fill in the blanks and then they go over the answers. If you know what your surgery is about then you should know all the answers. Things like what does RNY mean, what size is the pouch after the surgery, where are your incisions located, etc. It's no biggie,  and no need to worry about it. They go over what you will be doing the day of your surgery and the days that follow while you are in the hospital.  The person you bring really should be your support person that will be with you at the hospital since they will go over things that they need to know also. If your at this stage then you are close to your surgery date, so good luck with everything and welcome aboard!

Does anyone know if it would be easier to get approved if my general practioner started me on a diet plan or if it would be better to wate on the bariatric doctor to do so. Ive got an appointment tomarrow with my GP. The simanar with Dr. Rowitz was postponed today and I would love to get a leg up on the process.

I actually have a consultation with him on March 18th (hopefully a surgery date will be figured out).  I'm sure if you called the office you could get the receptionist to let you know about his fees.  I was at a seminar for him the other day  and he said that he ddin't handle all the financials.

You all will be closer to Saint Mary's Downtown I believe then. Just a heads up Saint Mary Magdalene is really packed for masses so we ususally get there about 20-30 minutes early otherwise you might end up standing.

Thank you, I called another church and they gave me Saint Mary Magdalene's information. I will check the other one. We are staying on Cleveland Street/Ave.

I have no idea about his fee's but when I was in the hospital in Anderson for malnutrition and dehydration he was the doc that I saw and I have to say that I LOVE him! He is such a great doctor and so kind and compassionate. He is straight forward and tells you like it is but not in a way where he seems like an arrogant know it all. I liked him so much as a person that if I lived closer to Anderson I would actually change and have him as my doc and that's saying alot because I felt I did alot of resear*****hoosing my surgeon.
