Medicare A & B

Hello Does anyone have info for what if any WLS is covered by medicare and what are the procedures. Thanks In Advance Chris

Hi Chris yes Medicare does cover both lap band and gastric by pass surgery,. must have letter from your doctor stating medically need , also must have been on one doctor suporvised diet at least 6 months in last five years to prove you at least tried to lose weight and also your weight loss surgeon and the hospital must both be on center of excelence to qualify hope this helps by the way you can call mediare and they will tell you Good luck on your journey .... Thanks for your replies. I just went to a seminar at Vanderbilt and Im sheduled to meet with christian this month looks like medicare is a plus so hopfully im on my way. Thanks Chris

Christian is so nice. Actually everyone and the Vanderbilt Weight Loss Clinic is fantastic. I am glad that my insurance sent me there. They have held my hand duirng the whole 9 month ordeal with my insurance company. By the way I work at Medicare, let me know if you have any questions. I can try to find you answers. Marie
