Frustrated as all get out!!
I know that Scott's first answer to me would be to Breathe, and you should know that I've been sitting here trying to focus on my breathing so that I won't get too worked up about this, but I'm so frustrated that I want to scream (which I might go to my car during lunch and do!)
I had my 3rd doctor's visit last Friday and was told that they'd submit to insurance by Wednesday. It's Friday and they still haven't submitted. I thought I'd have a problem with the insurance company dragging their feet, not the doctor's office who is supposed to be working for and with me! To top it off, they're now telling me that they can't send pictures as a weight history (which is what I was told by the insurance specialist that was at the seminar I attended). I took some of Scott's other advice and printed the pictures so that they were ready to scan, but she still doesn't want to include those.
I got an email here at work asking me if I've received my 5 year weight history because that's all she needed, so I feel like she just ignored all the time we spent talking when I was there last Friday. I reminded her that I didn't have that because I didn't have insurance, and told her that I faxed over a letter I'd like them to include (which explained in my own words the picture history) and the pictures I wanted her to send. She said she could send the letter but couldn't send the pictures.
I don't understand. I thought the insurance specialist was supposed to be working with me to help me get approved, but it seems like this lady doesn't give a crap about me and what I'm trying to do. I have already made some pretty big life changes in preparation for this surgery and I need the insurance company to feel that by what is being presented, even though I haven't had insurance and so the weight history is lacking. The changes that I've made, though really good for me, aren't enough to help me lose the weight I need to lose. I'm just getting the impression that this lady isn't as qualified to be handling this as the first lady was, because at least the first lady was willing to work with me. Why did they have to change up before my paperwork was submitted?
I know there are some pray-ers in the group, so if you're willing to, please keep me in your prayers. I want this so bad...failure is not an option at this point.

I can only imagine how frustrated you must be at this point. I'm going to agree with Scott, Breathe, Breathe In, and Breathe out. After you have had the weekend to calm down, call the insurance company on Monday and ask them if they accept pictures as part of your weight history. If they say yes, then ask them to fax you something in writing. After that, contact Dr. McDowell's office and speak to the insurance specialist and let them know what you found out from the insurance company and that you will be faxing their agreement to accept pictures are part of your history (if that turns out to be the case) and that again, you respectfully request they follow through with your request to submit your pictures.
If that fails, I would ask to speak directly to the office manager or with Dr. McDowell himself and explain the situation.
Hang in there, it will get better and this will happen for you. Know that you and this situation are being prayed for. Keep us posted on how things go.

Precious One...there is nothing easy about this process. I have to say that you are with one of the best offices there is! Baptist ROCKS! Now, with that said, realize that there are lots and lots of patients that they work with (I am one of them.) Even in the best of times we have to play bull dog and make sure that things get done mostly for ourselves. Don't get upset...just keep checking through phone calls and email until you get the answer that you are hoping for. Trust me...it is worth all of the effort!!! Also, remember to BREATHE!
Hugs!
Freddie
OK, now that you have had time to breathe, let's go from there! I think you have been given wonderful advice from Freddie and Wendy! There's not much I could add except stay on top of things and don't give up.
I want you to read a post from my blog from almost a year ago. You will understand when I say breathe! After a good nights sleep, the problem worked itself out. So hang in there!
