Queso Dip?

OK I thought it was as easy as putting the queso block into a bowl and turning on the microwave.  There were no directions on the queso block package.  Well, it ended up being a blob of icky goey stuff... not very tasteful.

Does anyone have a recipe or instructions on how to make mexican queso dip?  I made chicken tacos for supper tonight, we have low carb Genisoy nacho flavor chips (not for me, BUT Mr. Timothy is on a diet) and I wanted him to have a treat.  Oh yes quite a messy treat!  He did not like it, even after I added homemade salsa and heated it again.

I take some velvita (sp) melt it in microwave then add some salsa  and thats it its pretty good.

If you wan t spicy then add spicier salsa.

Also a good dip is velvita cheese with a dab of sour cream and  then add a can of chili with or with out beans its up to you thats a really good dip.

I bought that white block queso cheese.  But it got so stringy!

Kroger has a store brand of white velveeta-like cheese with jalopenas(sp?) and spices in it. Just melt it in the micro and dig in.

Melinda,

I've always used Velveeta (melted) and added salsa to it.  If you want spicier, use the Mexican Velveeta and hotter salsa.  I've also have mixed in a can Rotel tomatoes instead of salsa.  I think the trick to keeping your dip from getting icky....melt the Velveeta in a crock pot (takes longer) and keep it in the crock pot until you are done with your dip on low or the keep warm setting.

Hope your next attempt is better.
