New to the area

Hello everyone! My husband and I (we've both had gastric bypass) are relocating to Memphis in a couple of weeks and want to know if there are support groups, etc in the area and if anyone knows of a good doctor who could look after us while we're here. Any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated. My husband is from Tennessee (not memphis) but I have never lived there and no nothing about the area or anything. Help! Thanks Shannon

Shannon. Welcome to our beautiful state. I can't tell you about any surgeons in Memphis but I know they're there, several on this board are from that area. I can recommend a couple of great places and no it's not Graceland. If you like jazz, check out the BB King jazz club I think it's down near the water. Great place to go. I went there and Patty LaBelle was there singing. It's a great evening. You'll be about 3 hours from Nashville, and that makes for a good get away for a weekend. I love that part. I think you'll do just fine. Check with a Dr. Woodman I believe that's his name, he may be able to help you. Best of luck, Kathy
