NOT HAPPY~!

Soooooooooooooooooo...what a week! I was supposed to be in the process of taking acutane for VERY painful cystic acne and boils after trying to get it prescribed to me for a few years. Ive been dealing with the acne since I was 17. Long story short, I was so irratated at the egining of the week because I took my first run of labs about 3 weeks ago and they were never faxed to my dermatologist. So I finaly get it taken care of, take the blood work again and the dermatologist call's today to inform me that my liver enzymes were high and therefore they can not put me on the medicine I have been praying for, for years! Now I have to wait god knows how long to get an appointment with my PCP and find out what's wrong...and I sure hope they find out what's wrong SOON being that my number is getting REALLY close and Im sure that if there's some issue with my liver it will hold up my surgery as well... Thanks...I also forgot to mention my big concern is that my lil sister has a liver disease called NASH...Im just trying to keep thinking positive.

Hi, Brandi I had and still have high liver enzymes - it can be from a lot of things including being over weight!  My elevated LFT's were one of the reasons I was approved so quickly for my WLS.  Definitely follow up with your pcp! Keep the faith! Jill

Thanks...the news didnt get any better today...I found out that your enzyme level shouldnt go above 65 and Im 104!!!!!!!!! This is just freakin great!

Hi are you able to go to Drs outside the military? If so GO TO Dr Tompkins in Hampton. He prescribed me Accutane MANY times over the years. He is GREAT GREAT GREAT. Will listen to you and give you all the help you need!
