Well today was my pre op day and things went great. That ABG test does hurt don't care what any of you say lol but at least the pain doesnt last long. We were at the hospital from 1130 until 5 so a very long day but at least its all over with and now I can look forward to my surgery next Wednesday which is coming faster then I thought it would. Thanks to everyone for the support and great advice. Every one of you adds something to our VA Board and we need each of you so keep posting and helping others. Take care and move over on that losers bench !!!

Is that the blood gases test?? If so, I'm with ya. My tech hit a nerve and I about came out of the seat it hurt so bad...instant tears. It's not supposed to hurt like that, but that's if they don't hit a nerve I guess!
Glad to hear you're on your way! Schooching over to make room for ya on the bench!

I had to have them numb my wrist. After that I didn't feel anything, thank God!! I cried too-They numbed the one wrist- couldn't get anything out of it- so then she called in another nurse- she felt my right arm and told me that she could get it and that instead of sticking me twice, that she could get it in on stick. So I let her. BIG mistake. She couldn't get it- and had to numb me- after that - she had no issues! I'm so excited that you are getting your surgery next week!! I'll be praying for you!
