Unfortunately, I mourned food for quite a while---I even dreamt of pizza!  Most people refer to this as "head hunger" and it can last for a while.  It can be tough, bu it is only our brain's way of missing food.  It WILL go away at some point..

Lori- I went through a terrible mourning period.  In fact, it still catches me from time to time.  For me the greatest challenege is why me.  Why did I have to go to that extent.  Fortunately, at two years out, it's not as bad as it was in the beginning, but it's still there. The big thing to remember is that this surgery does NOT fix the head.  You have to work to fix that.  And for me...it is a daily challenge. So, you are normal.  My doc told me that he would worry if I didn't have those questions/issues  You will have to learn to re-focus your energy to something more positive.  Rememebr that this is where the trasnfer addiction comes into play so you have to make sure that you transfer your addiction to something more positive instead of negative.
