Protein....It's What's For Breakfast

It's been a few months since this question has been asked, and we always seem to be getting newbies here that may not know.  So.....for all of you old-timers and you newbies....... Protein....it's what's for breakfast.   Tell us....what do YOU eat that is high in protein??? Me?   1/4 cup of egg beater and 1 -2 turkey sausage links Cottage cheese and fruit Ricotta cheese w/ sugar free preserves Kroger Low Carb Yogurt w/ t tbsp of granola (the yogurt has 12 grams of protein in it) Protein Pancakes and canadian bacon Hi Protein Oatmeal (I found it on line and it has 20 grams of protein in it) Now.....your turn.  What do YOU eat for breakfast?

Good am Jill -  I am not usually the best breakfast eater (especially these last several months due to meds and such and well...) therefore I usually drink an AchievOne. However, this is going to be changing (thankfully). When I do eat its: a scrambled egg w/ some low fat shredded cheese added oatmeal w/ 2 packets of Equal and at times some fruit CIB's with non fat dry milk added for addt'l protein turkey bacon usually 1-2 slices  sweet tater pancakes low in fat, carbs and high in protein Take care....

Oh I love them! I don't eat them often but dang they are fantabulous. Ukrop's sell it and its called Bruce's Sweet Potato Pankcake Mix. Its known as "The Breakfast Vegetable!" I fix them for me & the buggas and usually add strawberries or blueberries depending on what they want with sf syrup which btw my girls absolutely LOVE. Its neat having this tool and passing along good traits onto them and others. The ones I buy are 6 oz. bags and the dietary/nutrition facts are: Calories 200   Calories from fat 25 Total Fat 2.5 g Total Carbs 40  Sugars 12 Protein 6  *For the entire bag  I make mini ones for the 3 of us with cookie cutters and I can personally eat 4 of them with the fruit, spray butter and sf syrup. Otherwise, that's it. In the fine scheme of things they are not an everyday thing and we eat them also with eggs and such. Dang they are good! Scrambled eggs and cheese  Shrimp - Sea Food .. Oysters or Scallops  Turkey  - or Turkey and Cheese Sammies  CHEESE - CHEESE AND MORE CHEESE  Beans or Lentals  Kroger Yogurt  Chili - with either Ground Turkey or Ground Beef  Bean Soup with Ham for flavoring  3 AcievOnes Every Day !! I LOVE MY ACHIEVONE !!! THANK YOU JILLY DENNIS !!  So many protein foods out there . I could sit here all day and list them .But as everyone knows , I am the protein queen .. Protein +Exercise + Water = Weightloss . Simple Equation ... !!!  Have a great Protein Filled Day !  TInk

For me: Fage yogurt with SF jelly and 1 pack of Splenda (13 grams of protein) 2 slices of bacon and a scrambled egg white Hi protein pancakes (ordered from BariatricChoice) South Beach Protein Bar

I like to have egg beaters w/onions and some cheese and maybe some porkroll - I love the stuff...lol.  If you're from the Philly area, you know what a porkroll w/cheese sandwich is...lol. In high school...awhile ago, I'd pay 4.00 at lunch for a pork roll sandwich.  Apparently, it is high in protien.  Down here, they sell it at the dollar store!...lol.  Yay! I've noticed that, since my surgery and weight loss, I'm COLD! Therefore, I drink alot of hot tea w/splenda and milk . While I'm  at work and everyone else is having MikkiDees nastystuff  for lunch,  I have an Atkins shake and low carb yogurt.  I'm going to have to  try some of the KrogerYogurt! I also usually have some sort of SouthBeach bar at some point thru the day. Since I don't have an appetite and I don't have alot of time in the morning,  it's gotta be something quick.  I also drink alot of crystal light tea. :-) J

I used to go to the Ocean City (NJ) boardwalk and get porkroll and cheese all the time. I found Taylors Pork Roll at the commissary. Love it!!! I can do a quiche but not scrambled eggs. Go figure. Breakfast is usually a protein shake or oatmeal. with a scoop of unflavored protein in milk. Just make sure the oatmeal is not too hot or the protein will clump.

I usually have a protein shake: either champion nutrition chocolate or vanilla.  Pretty boring but I have lots of trouble eating solids too early in the morning.  I have also started drinking a homemade latte/misto w/ decaf coffee w/ skim milk mixed/blended w/ the vanilla protein powder....tastes better than starbucks. PS, which HI protein oatmeal product do you use?   What is the websight/link? Thanks, Dianne

It's made by Dixie Diner.  I got it from netrition.com.  But it is 80 cals, 12 grams of protein and 8 carbs.  It's about 1/3 cup serving size. But, they have lots of products that are low in carbs and high in protein.  My favs are: Cinnamunch - it'spork rinds w/cinnamon on them. Flax Seed Granola Cheese Crisps Da Vinci syrups Steel's saucesm(sweet and Sour and Peanut Dipping) Big Train Brownie Mix Big Train Pancake Mix Shipping is reasonable, too.
