Good am all!  To get into the Cmas spirit I wanted to post asking what your ideas for gifts are! Are you making gifts? Buying gifts? Giving gift certs/cards? I'm in the process of making my to do list and wrapping up shopping & such and am really looking for some great inexpensive ideas as well. I'd be delighted to know your thoughts & ideas! Thanks a bunch!

Morning Kat! I bought most of the gifts I'm giving this year, very specific things that were on lists or asked for....making a few for some friends/co-workers. I have one person in the family that never gives a list and is so difficult to purchase for that I'm getting them a gift card (fine! buy it yourself!).   As for MY list...heehee...I'm still working on it but it includes lots of things that I know most people won't get for me (too expensive or risky fashion-wise). OH well. Have fun.....sorry I didnt' give any specific ideas!

Thanks for your reply! It just dawned on me that I don't even have a list for ME this year. Hmmmm oh well no big deal I much rather pass along the smiles & joy anyhow. Yes, we are the same with some who just cannot tell you what they want. Its like pulling teeth. So, I often times make them something or get them gift cert for places I know they enjoy having a meal at or for some things I know they'll use. - Hugs!

Did a LOT on on-line buying this year.  Saw an ad for a 2-gallon bucket-o-popcorn (and other treats) for $14.95 (reg $22 or $29???) that I 'm going to purchase (waiting to see if shipping becomes free today) for the home movies lovers in my family.  Many of my family members are not conspicuous gatherers of stuff so consumables go over big!  This gift will most likely be accompanied by gift cards to favorite restaurants or book /DVD sellers. I also saw in a magazine initial key rings at Old Navy for a couple of dollars.  Thought I'd buy some as stocking stuffers.  Another website (Solutions.com???) had these little pouches made to hang from the car vents to told stuff like sun glasses, paper, pencil - pretty compact.  I have several people on my list that could use them (even if they don't know it!).  Gonna get one for me too! Now if I could just get ideas for 36 yr old son who is the biggest non-consumer of all!  He does want a 40+inch flat screen TV...maybe I could buy him the remote? Hope you have fun deciding!

Morning! I too plan to do some purchasing online as well. There are some things I'm making that I can purchase items that go in them cheaper online than in the stores (bulk). Got movies & music on my list as well! Books are always great as well especially for the kids. Hmmm I haven't heard of Solutions.com so jotting that down to check out for sure. Thanks so much for your response! - All best...

I am afraid that I am making this year Kat...due to financial strains...It is going to be a tight one this year...very tight.  Hope to plan better next year.  For the far away gifts, it might be money but not much...save on shipping...lol Love you.. Momma Bets

Morning Momma Bets - agreed monetarily its going to be tight for sure but keep in mind your love & friendship are what is important not the gift. In my opinion its always the thought that counts. Sure it would be nice to shower everyone with everything they "want" but truthfully unconditional love and the birth of our savior is the root of Cmas. Its getting "time" which is THE best gift we are given with those we love. Sometimes the commercialization of Cmas is really huge and we forget the REAL meaning of Cmas. Love ya!

Rickie I'm sure your son would love the remote!  My hubby was easy to buy for, got him a video game rocking chair thingie.  He's so easy to buy for because I can shop for him and the kids in the toy section!   Kat: I did the"Gift for the class" off my boys' scholastic book order forms for their teachers this year.  It's only $3.95 and the teachers truly appreciate new books for the children.  I plan on having each son make a home*****hristmas card to give them as well. My daughter has circled almost everything in the American Girl Bitty Baby catalog so I am ebaying to get some of it in brand new used condition.  Also doing eBay for DS games and such. Obviously I am being very cautious of toys made in China this year.  I am sticking to brands that rarely have recalls, books, educational games, outdoor activities and the like. So far I have bought everything on sale except for the outdoors soccer goal.  I refuse to pay full price this year unless it is a must have.

Hi Autumn! I LOVE Scholastic books! Each month Kayla brings home a flyer and I've been order 1-2 books each time. Some I've given her & Nora now & others I've held on to for Cmas & her birthday which is in January. As for toys definitely have to be cautious. Good for you! I too am finding deals and making out pretty well. Thanks for sharing! - All best...

Well I ordered a bunch of stuff for my girlies from the LTD Commodities catalog, got a few gifts off of the school fund raiser flyers, did some outlet shopping and specialty shops while on the honeymoon and got a few more, still have a ways to go though.  Not too big on the gift certs/cards, prefer to actually have a gift.  Only have a few more weeks to go so I better get busy. For myself, I usually have lists going by the beginning of November to cover my bday & cmas, this year I was a bit preoccupied and didn't get them done.  I really want/need clothes so I have been requesting gift certificates for myself and pointing out things in catalogs with size info.
