2. Does Santa wrap presents or sit them under the tree? Presents from Santa are unwrapped just sitting under the tree ~ presents from Mom and Dad are wrapped
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Colored outside but white on the tree
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No but my new sweetie says we should have ~ he will look for any reason available to steal a kiss!! (Notice I'm not complaining!!!)
5. When do you put up your decorations? Thanksgiving weekend
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? My Mom's homemade dressing
7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? Taking a nap on Christmas Eve afternoon in anticipation of going to my aunt and uncle's house that evening. When we would return home, Santa would have been there and left our BIG gift and our stockings filled!!!! I always wondered how Santa knew we weren't home and later found out that Mom and Dad had a neighbor come over after we left to set everything up. As a kid, it was totally magical.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Usually open them all but since I have a new family this year, we may start new traditions. Who knows!!!!
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Usually go with a different color scheme every year ~ this year it's silver and blue with white lights, blue, silver, white and clear balls, and silver bows.
11. Snow ~ love it or dread it? Absolutely, positively, without a doubt HATE, HATE, HATE IT!!!!! And if someone would please remind me why I moved back to the mountains of Virginia where it snows all winter long, I would appreciate it!! What in the heck was I thinking???
12. Can you ice skate? Only on my butt ~ it's not a pretty sight!!!!!
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Baby Alive doll when I was 8 or 9!!!!
14. What's the most important thing about the holidays to you? Celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And spending time with my family.
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? Cheesecake with cherry topping ~ I'm working on a low fat, sugar free version for this year.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? When it was just me, my Mom and my son, we would fill stockings for each other using items that didn't cost more than $1.00 each. We had a ball trying to find fun, unique gift items every year. it's a tradition that I plan on continuing with my new family.
17. What tops your tree? This year it's a big silver bow!!! Very pretty!!
18. Which do you prefer ~ giving or receiving? I love to give but on the other hand, I love to receive too!!
19. What is your favorite Christmas song? The Christmas Shoes (makes me cry everytime I hear it!!)
20. Candy canes? Love them as long as they aren't peppermint flavored!! The Jelly Belly flavored ones are to die for!!
21. Do you feel Christmas is too commercialized? Sadly, yes.
22. Favorite Christmas movie? I'm not a big movie fan so I really don't have one. Sorry!!

Thankful for the easy, grateful for the hard & hopeful for tomorrow.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or sit them under the tree? Wrapped. Our girlies are old enough that they realize who santa is so we are actually wrapping and putting under the tree now and it is causing lots of excitement & curiosity.

5. When do you put up your decorations? Thanksgiving weekend or the first time we have the girlies after that.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? there are some traditionals that are a must, grandad's omlette sauce that has been passed down through the family, banana bread, and grandma's applesauce cake.

Favorite holiday memory as a child? our christmas was always full of travel, it was up early doing presents, then off to grandma's house, home for a nap, off to my uncles for dinner and then the day after leaving for my granny's house for a few days. everyone always thinks I am crazy because I run everywhere on christmas, even though we have lost some family members over the years, it is a day of travel, up to do presents, off to mom's for brunch (either before or after we get the girlies) then off to dad's for dinner, and usually a trip to my pops at some point during the week.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I was around 10 or so, mom always wrapped our stocking stuff in special tissue paper & she left it out on the bed one year.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? I didn't til last year with my new hubby. He & I did one gift last year together, and this year with the girls we will do one, it is tradition for a new set of pj's on christmas eve.

How do you decorate your Christmas tree? lots of colored lights, ornaments that we have collected over the years as gifts from others or that we have made, and a few traditional silk & glass bulbs. I also continue a tradition that my mom started with me & get a new personalized ornament for all 4 of us every year that is the first gift of the season, it gets opened and used the day we decorate the tree.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Cabbage patch kids when I was little, a starter jacket as a teen, a digital camera as an adult, and anything my hubby gets me.
