EGD update...not good news

I went in and had my urgent EGD this morning and found out some not good news. First, my ulcer is completely unchanged...it's not healing and this is not good.  Second, I have areas of "new" inflammation that Dr. Shoham seems to think are more ulcerations forming...again, not good news. Third, he had to redilate my stricture...this was obviously the least of my concerns. So, I am now under strict orders to take ONLY liquids by mouth and only enough to keep me comfortable and hydrated.  I am on pain medication.  I have been given the OK to go to Tennessee to see family tomorrow, but, only if I follow my orders strictly.  When I get back, I see Dr. Mo to determine what to do next. Dr. Shoham is pretty sure that I will require surgical intervention and this is the worst news I received today.   I am stressed...in many ways.  I'm upset, in pain and very concerned.  I was a self pay for my WLS and my insurance is not likely to cover this kind of complication.  This is not good timing at all because we just bought a house and pretty much have no financial reserves. So...prayers for the following would be GREATLY appreciated: 1.  No new ulcers to form 2. The current ulcer to heal without surgery 3. If surgery is needed, for it to be complete and require no additional medical intervention 4. For finances to be there when needed 5. For peace of mind no matter what...cause I don't have much of that right now! 6. For this not to turn into a life threatening situation

Lisa - my thoughts & prayers are with you & your family. Being proactive is the BEST thing you have done for yourself at this time. Please know that if there is anything I can do to help I will. The power of prayer is amazing. Do NOT give up! I will not give up on you! Although the news isn't the best please know that you are are doing all the right things & spending time with your family in TN is certainly going to be a spirit lifter. Its very tough to be facing all this right now & I won't try to say I know how you feel but will try my best to be here. Its important to get in your liquids as best you can & not become dehydrated. Take it slow, easy & focus on your care. If you get ANY indication that something just isn't right PLEASE sweetie let hubs know & call/get to the doc. Again, my thoughts & prayers are with you & the Lord will see you through this. Have faith, keep hope alive and know that you are loved. ((((((HUGS))))))

Lisa - First off .. yes prayers sent right away .. I for one know first had the amount of prayers I have recieved from my WLS family . .do work !!  Second , I ask you to command your illness . To revoke any new ulcer .. to demand that by the Power of God that you get healed .  You need to take the positive road . This ulcer does not have you ... You have the ulcer .. and it is with your powerful prayer and positive affirmations, that you will heal ...  I told someone today , that I was determined that my adrenal tumor would not kill me .. it would not control me .. I would dicate to it .. as I was going to fight it all the way until it was gone .  The power of positive thinking does work !  I wanted to tell you too , that I had complications with my plastic surgery .. and my insurance paid for the aftermath . I would tend to think that no matter where your ulcer is at .. it is still treatable by insurance .  As I said I will pray for you .. and keep you in my prayers .  Natalie
