Need help finding a primary care physician in NoVa
Hi! I'm having the worst time trying to find a primary care physician in the Arlington (or nearby surrounding area) that has experience with WLS patients. I've gone through three in the past three years who know nothing about WLS patients and their needs and I'm getting desperate. I dumped the last one because I had mentioned that I needed to have my blood tested to make sure my iron, folate, and b12 levels were good and she refused, beating me down that WLS patients don't need to worry about that, only anemic people.
If anyone has a recommendation for a good physician I'd love to hear about him/her. Thanks!
Kia
Good am Kia - I'm sorry you are having a tough time finding a PCP in NOVA. I'm here in Richmond so I'm not sure who to suggest however, there are some folks here who might make some great suggestions. Its GREAT you are proactive in your search & it DOES matter for the rest of our lives. Take care & I hope you find one & soon. Happy Holidays! All best.....

Hi there..
I know it's not in the immediate area you're looking for but the Drs. at Herndon Family Medical are great! They're not super knowledgable re: WLS (yet!) but are very supportive and open to learning to work with us. I use Dr. Ragland mostly, but they're all great.
Here's their site in case you want to check them out: http://www.herndonfamilymedicine.com/index2.html
