is it normal to be loosing sooo much hair at  41/2 months out? it just started last week. i mean globs of hair come out and im getting worried. also i havnt been taking my vitamins like i should. is that a factor in the hair loss also. i need to make an appt with the doctor i havnt seen him in  months and i am also having some other concerns. like sometimes when i go to sleep i feel like light headed and i start shaking really bad and it wont go away unless i quickly go eat something? has anyone else ever had these problems???

Hair loss is normal at that stage, for a few months usually. BUT, vitamins and protein seem to play a huge role in how much. Please, please, please get back to taking your vitamins....your hair will be the least of your worries if you don't. I don't want to sound mean or scary, but messing with your vitamins is a big deal...your life could depend on it!  As for the light-headedness and shaking, please talk to your Dr. about it. It may be your blood sugar dropping dangerously low...or something else...only a Dr. would really be able to help you there.  Please take care of yourself.....being thin is only fun if you're alive and healthy.

At 4 months out I started loosing hair by the handfuls, mulitple times a day. So I cut my long hair off and went a bit darker to hide the loss. Now at 6 months, the hair loss has slowed down quite a bit. I take my vitamins and supplements faithfully every day. It sounds like your blood sugar is low. I used to have similar reactions prior to surgery with diabetes. Call your doc and make that appointment today!! Good luck,

I lost hair from 4 months to about a year post op.  I am almost 2 years post op now and the regrowth is about 6 inches long--almost long enough to go in a pony tail.  I hated the loss, BUT  I love the weight loss! Make  sure you take your vitamins and iron and get all your protein in. Lois

missing your vitamins and supplements make not make a difference in the way you feel the day you miss them but let me put it this way,  when you get older and your back starts curving over, taking the calcium then won't straighten you back up. Taking it now may well prevent it from happening.  The same is true with the iron for stamina, B-12 and other B vitamins for energy, focus and concentration, A & D for back and joint pain, etc. etc.   Hair loss; lack of protein and I also recommend from personal experience taking biotin; it has helped me minimize my hairloss and recovery plus a new wave I didn't bargain for, but its better than being thin on top. The light-headiness can be from a numbe ro f things that may be vitamin and suplement realted, nutrition related, blood sugar or blood pressure related or any combination.  Get back on the vitamins and supplements, get your protein and water in, and if you are still having problems or if the light-headiness gets more persistant oe worst, get to your surgeon pronto! Take care of yourself.  You did this to get better and you've done so well. Don't sabatoge yourself.  Work the program and the program will work for you. Thanks for posting this with such honesty. It is an easy and frequent pitfall to fall into; you feel pretty good,... so why do I need to take all of this stuff.  Answer,...to keep feeling pretty and good at the same time! Keep us posted on your progress so we worry so much about you our hair starts falling out,...again!!!!

When I would get light-headed it was because I hadnot drunk enough water--Iwas dehydrated.  That might also be your problem. Lois

Hair loss is normal and it will get worse if you dont take those vitamins everyday!! You should be on the vitamins daily and you might want to have blood work done if you havent been for your follow ups to check your other levels it is very importamt to have those suppliments since we cant get them in by foods so please get an appointment w/ your PCP or your surgeon and have yourself checked. Even though I take my vitamins and Calcium I was Vitamin D dificiate so Im having to take more  to up that problem you need to have the blood work done ASAP please. Try biotein for your hair you can get that in pill form or shampoo as well Walmart sells it too. That will help w/ the loss but you have to take the vitamins too. good luck and  we are here for you.

Please listen to the others that have posted to you and start taking your vitamins again. One thing is that try to eat a small snack just before you go to bed and see if that helps with the light headness the reason I said that is because the sugar tends to drop at night and that way if it is your sugar it will take care of it. I am dieabetic and I find that helps me. Please make a follow-up appointment so they can check your levels and if you need to increase anything you can. Keep up the good work and take care of you.
