Did any of you have friends who didn't want to discuss your surgery with you after you had it and started losing weight? I have one friend who I met when we moved to VA(she's another military wife) and she was able to lose weight on her own over the course of 4 years, but when I say something or bring something up about my weight loss or surgery she's always got some kind of snide comment and I don't know if it's jealousy or what. I love her to death and there have been times that we just agree to disagree when it comes to WLS but I was just wondering how many other people had come across this? ♥Missy 260/189/130 high/now/goal

Unfortunately, you will always come across those who are not as supportive or as excited as we are about this surgery.  They just do not see it from our perspective. Have you told her how you feel about her snide comments?  There may be a jealousy on her part, because she may look to you as taking the easy way out.  Little does she know...... But, it could also be that she may see the friendship changing, because you will be changing.  You will become more confident and she may feel that you won't need to be around her. Personally - I would take to her about what's going on.  Especially if she is a really good friend.  But, realize that this might be a situation where you may have to agree to disagree. Good luck!

Yep definitely experienced this problem.  My sister was the one who I had this issue with.  Same thing, snide comments, etc.  Finally I just told her if she couldn't be supportive & nice we just wouldn't talk about it, so we don't.  It just isn't part of our relationship. Talk to your friend & see if there is a way to work around it, especially if it is important to you.
