Dull Ache

Hi All: I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and things are going well as we look forward to the New Year! I have a question:  I am 3 months out, down 70 lbs. (woo hoo!), and this afternoon I have had a constant dull ache in the middle of my back (actually, a little to the right) and a similar ache in the same area on the front of my abdomen.  I am not sick from it, I am not writhing in pain, it is just a dull ache.  When I have something cold, it lets me know that it's not too happy, but that's about it.  I know we aren't doctors, but just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this.  Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks! Cindy

No clue, but hope you feel better..... Have you called your doc?  Maybe it is something that should be checked out......

Cindy - do you still have your gall bladder? If you do, my guess would be that it might be that bothering you but call your doctors and get in to see him before the holidays....... Also sometimes gas can cause a lot of unusual symptoms....... Jackie

Thanks for the ideas....yes, I still have it, and I wondered if that might be it.  Also, I know that I haven't been getting my fluids in like I should, and I read that dehydration can cause kidney "upset" (it's in that location)...I'll see what tomorrow brings, I guess, and call the surgeon or my PCP.  The gas...thought of that, took GasX...no luck.  Aaahh...the fun! Thanks! Cindy

Gall Bladded, dehydration are both possibilities.  I also experienced back pain through out as my body adjusted to it's new size and shape.  Definitely call the dr. if it keeps up.

Thanks so much!  I've been drinking a lot today, and am hoping that the ache will stay away!  I hadn't thought about the body adjustments ... but that makes a lot of sense too. Thanks! Cindy

But did you call the doctors? If it comes back at the weekend you will wish you did..... Also I remember a friend of mine having symptoms like this and it was lack of fibre - could that be an issue? Jackie

To be honest, I was so tied up with my Mother, who is in the hospital, that I forgot to call (didn't have the pain).  You are right, if it comes back, I will be sorry!!!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays away. You know, fiber could be it ... I really need to eat more vegetables & fruit.  It's been so crazy with Mom that I have been "catching as catch can."  Hopefully I can get back into a routine and really focus on not only how much protein I am eating, but WHAT I am eating! Thanks for the ideas and the concern! Cindy
