Ok Gang .. I need your help . Alan and I have need to be looking for a place to move to after April . Our lease expires here in Rockville . He says as long as I stay with in 30 miles of Bethesda Md .. We can move there . I was looking at Leesburg , Fairfax .. etc...  Anyone have any ideas or comments on the area in NOVA you live in .  What do you like about it .   I am looking for a slower paced town . One that has access to the major highways to get him to 270 to NIH ..  I have been looking at Leesburg .. and Fairfax ..  Do you have any suggestions .. We are open to townhomes and apartments that are pet friendly !!  I want to get back to VA .. Rockville is just to much for this country gal !!  Thanks,  TInk

Hi, Natalie!  My son is looking for homes in NOVA and is steering clear of Fairfax.  His wife works in Rockville and they say the traffic in Fairfax is miserable, making her commute impossibly long.  Currently they are in Arlington and her commute is about 45 minutes depending on the time of day (she usually goes in early and stays a bit late too exercise and miss some of the evening traffic).

Good luck! Cleo

Thanks Cleo !!  The nice thing about Alan's job is that he has to leave at 4 am .. he gets off at 2 .. so he misses the dreaded traffic .. me on the other hand will be selling  Real Estate .. so I am up for anything .  I for one know how bad traffic is .. is why I must get out of Rockville ...  I was really thinking of Leesburg .. but will not really know until we get out and start looking ..  Thanks again .. and Happy New Year !  Nat

Hi Tink, We live in some apartments in Herndon.  (Dulles Green Apartment and Town homes). They are Huge we have a 2 bed 2 bath and it is 1265 sq feet.  Great community, Pet friendley, Pool, Exercise Room.ETC.  Close and convienent to everything but not to crazy . I love it. Herndon is a small little town close to Reston. Your hubby can hop on 267 toll and get to work or route 7 is easy to get to as well. Let me know if you have any  questions.  I will be glad to help. Hey Tink... I lived in the FairLakes area and loved it.  It was quiet, yet close to everything... New homes popping up everywhere, too! Just my .02 :-)

I would stay clear of Fairfax - the traffic is TERRIBLE.  I mean, just down-right stinks......

Fairfax traffic definitely nasty!!!  Leesburg is a nice area and very centrally located for the commute Alan will be looking at.  Also nice to go down 7 the opposite way to escape to the Shenandoah area (might work really well for you if you are looking into support groups in the Winchester area).

OH I AM SO EXCITED!!!! Yes come down this way... Fairfax is not a slow town, crowded! You could try Ashburn and I think Leesburg is right up your alley :) But then again maybe I am partial. I love Leesburg because of the quaint old town with antiques etc.... and you can see the mountains...  Ashburn is the town next to Leesburg its a little more suburbia but nice and some may call it yuppyville. Everything is very new and nice and clean.   Both would provide minuites to Dulles Greenway/Toll Road, Rt 7 to Backroads. How far is he willing to drive (commute time?)

If he goes in early NIH takes about 45 min to an hour I believe to get to from Sterling/Ashburn area.

Leesburg, count on an hour leaving at 7 a.m. Call me and I can answer anything you need. I used to do real estate in the area and have a good grasp of things... I would stay away from Herndon. Perhaps Reston?
