HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE/MONDAY

Good am all, How are ya'll doing? How was your weekend? I'm hanging in here. Our weekend was moderately packed with activities. I admit it I loved that we got as much rain as we did. Friday the buggas, my nephews & another great connection of mine met at McDonald's and the kids played in the kiddie play center while I had a cuppa and our friend had lunch. I personally do not eat @ McDonald's but the kids love playing there so it worked out with the rain. Sat was a few small errands, a couple coffee runs, 2 movies both of which were neat (A Perfect Day with Rob Lowe - wow what a thinker that was & Snow Cake with Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver - strange but neat) and 2 hours straight of the buggas & I playing Candy Land. They love it as I do. Sunday was low key really. Coffee runs, a Wally World run & then I read from cover to cover Denise Jackson's book (hubs is Alan Jackson - country music super star) called Its All About Him. Ladies & Gents I could NOT put that book down. Its a MUST read for sure. Many think the title is representative of her hubs Alan and at one time it was but once you read her book you will TOTALLY get it! I promise you its a page turner. Flipped through a newly run magazine in hopes it was actually decent but no such luck. Called "Southern Beauty" supposedly catered to us Southern women...um lets just say for $4.99 PER mag & about 1/2 or more is ads and NO stories that would even pertain to me personally and Southern women in general oh and just because they put a couple famous faces on the cover....yeah NOT a winner.  On the books for today...been married 7 years today and its New Year's Eve! The 7's have been interesting in playing a roll in my life almost all my life & is my lucky number. Hmmmmm!!! A packed with activities kinda day. Working on my AchievOne as we speak, then my cuppa, some breakfast and heading out the door for my follow up appointment since having surgery 1 1/2 months ago(non wls related but strangely enough is related to future wls stuff but I digress). Then I will grab a few things and head back home. So, prayers please that everything goes smoothly. Will go out to dinner & celebrate & then watch the ball drop. Something I read this am just has me wanting to share it. Its one of the BEST devotional's I've seen in weeks. Enjoy!

A Call to Radical Commitment

By Rick Warren

Today I am stepping across the line. I'm tired of waffling, and I'm finished with wavering. I've made my choice; the verdict is in; and my decision is irrevocable. I'm going God's way. There's no turning back now!

I will live the rest of my life serving God's purposes with God's people on God's planet for God's glory. I will use my life to celebrate his presence, cultivate his character, participate in his family, demonstrate his love, and communicate his Word.

Since my past has been forgiven, and I have a purpose for living and a home awaiting in heaven, I refuse to waste any more time or energy on shallow living, petty thinking, trivial talking, thoughtless doing, useless regretting, hurtful resenting, or faithless worrying.

Instead I will magnify God, grow to maturity, serve in ministry, and fulfill my mission in the membership of his family.

Because this life is preparation for the next, I will value worship over wealth, “we” over “me,” character over comfort, service over status, and people over possessions, position, and pleasures. I know what matters most, and I'll give it all I've got. I'll do the best I can with what I have for Jesus Christ today.

I won't be captivated by culture, manipulated by critics, motivated by praise, frustrated by problems, debilitated by temptation, or intimidated by the devil. I'll keep running my race with my eyes on the goal, not the sidelines or those running by me.

When times get tough, and I get tired, I won't back up, back off, back down, back out, or backslide. I'll just keep moving forward by God's grace. I'm Spirit-led, purpose-driven and mission-focused, so I cannot be bought, I will not be compromised, and I shall not quit until I finish the race.

I'm a trophy of God's amazing grace, so I will be gracious to everyone, grateful for everyday, and generous with everything that God entrusts to me.

To my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I say: However, whenever, wherever, and whatever you ask me to do, my answer in advance is yes! Wherever you lead and whatever the cost, I'm ready. Anytime. Anywhere. Anyway.

Whatever it takes Lord; whatever it takes!

I want to be used by you in such a way, that on that final day I'll hear you say, "Well done, thou good and faithful one. Come on in, and let the eternal party begin!"

What does this mean?

Today, I affirm this commitment to God and submit to his plans and purposes for my life, no matter what it takes.

Good morning- Happy Anniversary Kat! I have had a very low key, quiet weekend. Showering and putting on new pj's, playing Rock Band with my son have been the highlights. That game Rock Band is so much fun! I was the singer, Doug the lead guitarist. It also has room for a drummer and one other player. I plan on cozying up to the fire with a protein drink in hand reading one of my new books I got a couple for Christmas. James Patterson's Double Cross and a new one by Patricia Cornwell. But all that will be after a hike in First Landing State Park. It's a New Years tradition for us. Where ever your travels take you today and tomorrow, be safe. Happy New Year!

Happy Anniversary to you & your hubby!  Happy New Years to you & yours.  Prayers coming your way for the dr. appt. Had a great day yesterday!  Had to work which sucked but with the holiday weekend we were not very busy.  Came home & my hubby & girlies had cleaned & rearranged the girls bedroom so they had been quite busy.  We had a family night at home with a nice dinner, some game time on the Wii and we popped popcorn and made smoothies.  Very enjoyable. Not too much planned for this evening.  The girlies go back to their mom's and I believe my hubby and I are just going to have a quiet night at home to celebrate our first New Years as a married couple. Happy New Years to all and may you & yours be blessed in 2008.
