Quiting smkoing

I decided, not as a resolution, but a goal to stop smoking. Jan 1st I was a total biotch. Today I have been crying most of the day. I saw a picture of Carnie Wilson. She has gained almost all her weight back. I am so freakin scared that I will gain my weight back. I have been eating like there's no tomorrow. I haven't been stuffing junk in my face. I have been trying to make at least good choices, but I have not let my tummy feel unfull. If I'm not drinking, I am putting food in my mouth. I am so damn scared that I think smoking might not be so bad. I don't know if any of this makes sense. I just needed to get it out. I really want to quit smoking but I DON'T want to gain weight. I'm scared. Thanx for listening.

See if you can get Chantix.. Its a pill that blocks the receptors that call for the nicotine. Then all you have to use is your determination to change behaviors.  In the car have lots of water with you, gum, sugar free lifesavers... anything but smokes.  If you can use Chantix, it has a free website that you'll be able to use and gives you daily activities for reframing etc etc..

I quit in may using Chantix and I sware by it!

The first 3 days are the worse.  AND it takes 2 weeks to create a habit!! STAY STRONG YOU CAN DO IT!

Corin dont let those pictures scare you Carnie was just on The Today show over Christmas and yes she has gained some of her weight she said like 30 pounds but she had a baby I think she said and she is maintaining, so not sure where you seen the picture at but I know they had alot of her floating around showing her huge but she looked good just the other week on NBC. And as far as the smoking goes girl I was a 3 pack a day smoker everyday and I have been smokefree this year will be my 8th year and If I can do it anyone can it took me 3 trys so dont be down on yourself if you cant do it but sounds like you havemade up your mind. And thats what I did I said darn it Im going to do it this time I used the patches and the first 3 days I stayed in the bed away from everyone lol started on a Friday lol I know cop out but I knew I had to do it this way. My b/f continued to smoke not around me or in our house but he quit last year so he has been smokefree a year now he used the smokeaway pills, so everyone has there own ways. I wish you all the best, you can do it!!!! Prayers going up for you and I know you will be just fine. Hang in there your a tough cookie......

As Melinda said , she had some baby weight there .  If you can .. and it looks like you have , put down what you are doing wrong . Change it .. that is all .. Change your habits . Get rid of the junk .if there is any . and put in only things that are good for your body .  I am not saying run out to Food Lion and buy up all their salad fixins .. I am saying .. to replace som crunch .. go get you som sugar snap peas.. and low carb dip . If you must have somthing sweet .. limit it to once a week . I do .. I refuse to not give myself a treat  ( Oreos thank you )  You must drink .. this is the key . You are far enough out now where you could star****er loading . I do it from time to time . Drink water 30 minutes before you meal . This will lube up your intestines and keep you fuller longer .  You have taken the first steps. Recognizing your behavior . Just modify it . Add in more exercise if you think you are slacking . But you can maintain it sweety .. trust me . 4 years out .. I have had no bounc back weight . I refuse to go back .. not perfect here . but like I said .. I refuse to gain . I workd to hard to get here .. and so have you  .  Best to you . cannot wait to see you in a couple weeks .  Nat

Good am Corinn -  First and foremost you are in my thoughts & prayers. Next, I have never smoked but have been surrounded by family & friends who have. Its NOT easy from what I have seen & emotions run high. Then, its easy at times to compare ourselves to others and their struggles but please keep in mind that each of us is different and equally important. You might consider talking with a nutritionist & seeing if there is a support group in your area that you can attend. I have battled with eating & drinking and finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and its not a freight train. I hope that you know how important you are and how much we care for you here & I'm glad you are posting your struggles. It will hopefully help you and others and maybe we can help you through this part of your journey as well. Please know you are in my thoughts & prayers. MY OPINION: Carnie Wilson herself has struggled with the ups and downs of weight loss since her surgery and has experienced addiction with alcohol & also a pregnancy both of which helped with her weight gain. Its not easy for either regardless of her celebrity tag/media status. But, her honesty is paramount, her determination is resuming and hopefully she realizes how blessed she is, the tool/gift she's got, the beautiful baby she has & the many inspirations to get healthier this year.   All best.....
