I so Ditto What Jill and the rest have said .  But .. here is where I want to add my 2 cents .  I am ingesting about 50-60 grams of carbs aday
Carbs are WAY to high .. you need to get them down to @ 30 .. depending on what kind of carbs .. if they are good carbs .. then that is good .. but if this is white carbs .. that is big noooo nooo ..  Go back to your Nut or dietitian and see what they say .. for me .. I manage at 20 carbs a day . .following South Beach .. here I sit 200 pounds gone .. no regain .. and I am 4 years out ..  - between 48-60 oz of water As time goes by , you may want to get this up to 100 grams .. this will fuel your motabolism and the weight will MELT OFF !!  You are doing fantabulous ... Keep it up .. we are here for you ..  Tink

All very good advice. I seem to be a plateau loser;  drop a bunch then adjust for a while. It can be frustrating too.  Jill is right, you gotta count what you lost before surgery.  That was you losing weight too.  It also set you up for your new tool to help force your body to get after that hard to move stored fat rather than the easy fast to lose fluid and transitional stuff held in your kidneys, liver and intestinal tract.  Yo are working on the real deal stuff now, and it going slower also indicates it is the longer term loss the surgeons prefer.  It meants you may be one of those that loses slower but over a longer period of time post-op,...so it could be a good thing. Remeber to that the scale moving down is motivating but the clothes sizes usually drop when the scale seems broken. You are winning the fight, keep slugging!

I think I remember my doc saying it would be around 20-25lbs the first 4 weeks.  It depends on how long your body retains all the water, etc.   PLUS if you aren't getting at LEAST 500-600 calories a day your body goes into starvation mode and retains the fat vs burning it.  Please correct me if that statement is wrong.   I am 4 months out and I can't eat 5oz at one sitting.  Maybe 3-4oz

Lap Band on 07/16/07 with
Sluggo, dearest, I can't begin to advise you on how to handle your tool...I'm a lapbander, myself.  I do know that you are getting great advice from those that know & have already been there, done that.  I can, however, give you encouragement.  And when in doubt, just call your wl team...that's why they get paid the big bucks so make 'em earn it. I will address one issue that I can have a say-so on.  What's up with saying "...ONLY 18 lbs" ???  Honey, on THIS journey there's no such thing as ONLY.  The way I look at things, & this is just MY opinion, saying ONLY 18 lbs is not honoring your accomplishment.  You go out &  pick up a 20lb bag of dog food & carry that around for a few minutes...that'll put things into perspective for you.  Losing weight isn't just about the physical aspects...your mental well-being & the way you see yourself is equally important.  So I want you to rejoice in those 18 lbs cuz they are gone forever.  Poof!!  Non-existent!!  Never more!!  Embrace the courage you showed in going the extra mile to become a healthier, happier you.  You didn't make the decision to have surgery simply on a whim, did you?  Of course not!  You researched it & went to hell & back to get it.  So be proud of what you have achieved so far.  As Tink said in an earlier post, you go to your mirror everyday, look yourself in the eye, & say to yourself, "I love you.  I really like what you're doing.  I"m so proud of you."  OWN your achievements, sweetie...just own them.

Hugs!
Ann
