Need input from patients of Dr. Halmi in Virginia...

Hi there, I am looking for anyone who has interviewed or selected Dr. Halmi in Virginia. I am in the process of selecting a surgeon and need some constructive feedback please.....

Both Dr. Halmi and Dr. Tran are great. I had my lap-band surgery on 3/6/07 and the overall experience was excellent. The office staff are very supportive and the staff at Potomac Hospital were terrific. I had my WLS surgery at age 54 and it was my FIRST surgery EVER and it couldn't have been better! To date I have lost 55 pounds. Hope this helps. Diana

I had my RNY with Dr Halmi two years ago next month - apart from a c-section  it was my only surery. I can't say enough good thiungs about Dr Halmi and his group - the man is like a god to me!! I love him! I can't recommed him and his program highly enough! He has a great nutritionist too! Go to him!! Jackie

thanks for the feedback,I was nervous for my appointment with him and he seemed as if he was unsure of what procedure to recommend. He also made a comment that sticks in my mind a bit...anyway, thank you

I had a positive experience with Dr. Halmi and Dr. Tran.  I unexpectedly had two surgical experiences with them in October and December of 07, and had surgeries at both Fair Oaks and Potomac Hospital.  I do not have any complaints about either hospital.  (private rooms are great).  Both Dr. Halmi and Dr. Tran are caring and experienced surgeons.  If you have surgery with Virgina Weight Loss Surgery Center you may come in contact with both of them as they work together.  

Well a lot of the time it is really up to you what procedure you have as the office does both. Some people prefer to have the lapband and some prefer E&Y - so unless there is a medical issue you really do have a choice. The surgeries are a bit different but at the end of the day it is a tool and you need to change your way of eating to really make it a success..... I have yet to meet anyone who does not like him and Dr Tran as their surgeons..... They do an excellent job... If I can be of any  help you can pm me at any time....... Jackie.
