Hugs to my OH ohana!  Before I go any further, I need to send a special thank you to our buddy, Kat, for being my "angel".  Kat, you did good sweetie & I thank you so much. Ok, so as Kat already told you...there I was, minding my own business,  playing Uno with my family, having a good time & preparing to whip everybody's as...ooops, I mean butts.  Then all of a sudden I began having vision problems & some other symptoms.  After about 10 minutes or so & no improvement, the medic in me kicked in & I asked that they call 9-1-1.  I decided I'd much rather go to the hospital in the rig with life support & trained people instead of the car with just Mike who wouldn't know what to do. Needless to say, I was rather scared but forced myself to remain calm.  I could tell my speech was somewhat slurred & I could feel heaviness on my left side. We (Mike & I) were in the ER from 2 am until they moved me to a room at about 930 am.  Oh, did I mention nothing to eat since 8 pm Saturday night?  I was scheduled for a special test with tracing material at 2 pm. Oh gosh, to make a long story short, I had a mini stroke.  Will it happen again?  Maybe, maybe not.  Lasting effects?  Too soon to tell.  My vision cleared up after several hours but the heaviness is still with me.  There are a couple more tests to be done this week, but for the moment I'm supposed to get rest, continue eating healthy & working on my weight & take a baby aspirin daily. Sooooo, that's where things stand now.  I'm home & just chillin' on the couch.  And yes, I DID think of ya'll while I was in the hospital.  I hated the thought of letting you down, those that have committed to the virtual trips.  I PROMISED to have info for you.  I set it all up & you were counting on my.  So of course I worried.  When I make a promise, I keep it or do my best to.  And the rest of you...well, we depend on each other & need each other, during the good times & bad.  Yes, I'm having a tough time lately, & you've all been there for & some of you WITH me.  But ya'll have your tough times too & I've made a commitment to be there for you too.  I'm not gonna let this stop me.  Slow me down a bit, maybe, for a little while, but stop?  HELL NO!!!  They better be throwin' dirt on me first...LOL! I want to thank you all, from deep inside me, for the outpouring of love, concern, & prayers.  And I love you all.

Hi Ann, I am so relieved to hear that you are going to be ok. It's a good thing you have some medical knowledge and knew it was time to go 911! It can be very scary, but glad you didn't suppress those symptoms, they could have gotten a lot worse staying at home. I can see this slowing you down a bit, but stopping you, no way! You've got a trip to Hawaii planned. Gotta get that thumb out, girl and get hiching a ride if you can't walk! Best wishes on a speedy and full recovery, Pam

Thank you, Pam.  Yeah, it was scary but I have my faith.  Shoot!  I've cheated the Angel of Death so many times now, it'll take more than a MINI stroke to get me out...LOL!!!  As for my Hawaii trip, honey, I'm ridin' my bike all the way.  In fact, I've already DONE my two miles!!  Ok, so it was at a snail's pace, but hey...I did it...that's an accomplishment.  Believe me...old ladies in their walkers were passing me, but I don't care.  I made a commitment to myself & others so I'm holding true to it.  So I'm with you...a speedy & full recovery...yeah!!!!

Hugs!
Ann

Thanks for the post, Monique!  You Mom's been thru this too, eh?  Has she had any lasting residuals?  I have medical knowledge but only enough to make me dangerous...lol.  I really don't know what to expect & I haven't researched it yet, but will some time today. As for the trip, I already did mine, but hey, if you feel froggy enough you can do more...hehehe. And don't worry, I'm getting plenty of rest, I promise.

Hugs!
Ann
