Oh Jill....guess who has started running????
Yup you got it. I started running about a week ago yesterday. I absolutely love it. I am up to 1.25 miles without stopping...wow. I can't even believe it. I don't even get winded. I just keep on running. I also wanted to thank you for your help with the questions I had. It was very much appreciated.

RIGHT ON!!!! That's awesome!!!! Some days I hate it, but once I hit that 1st mile...I'm gone!!!! I just drift off into la-la land.
Such a GREAT feeling...isn't it. For me it's very freeing.
And the more that you do, the stronger you will get and the further you will go.
Now...you need to sign up for a 5K (a little over 3 miles)...practice running it....and then do it. Who cares if you have to walk part of it. The point of doing it is to have a goal in mind and do the best that you can do to accomplish that goal. I did my 1st one last year end of May (I started running about this time last year), so you have plenty of time to "train" for it. Check out active.com for runs in your area.
Also, checkout the local running store - they may have beginning running classes, events in the area, etc.
Also, check out runnersworld.com for article, tips, etc. They have a training program for doing your 1st 5K to help you out.
But...that is SO awesome! I am SO proud of you. Keep up the great work and I'll see ya on the road!

So I run like a Girl....now keep up!
Another one of my fav sites is www.coolrunning.com and www.runwashington.com should have all the races in the area (for your 5K of choosing :) )

Oh Anna, you sound soooo excited which can only cause US to be excited with you! While I am no where near ready to start running (& not sure I want to be...lol), I know that sense of accomplishment since I have become acquainted with my recumbent bike. Just knocking out 2 miles made me so excited & proud of myself. So you just go with yer bad little self, honey! Good job!!!!
Good for you Ann. Accomplishing these things make us feel so awesome!! You are doing so good. You never know maybe you will try running when you feel your ready. I started out on the recumbent bike too. I ended up breaking my foot 4 weeks after my surgery...what a bummer and a set back but I refused to let it keep me down for long. Keep up the hard work!!
