Hit the 70lb. mark this morning!

Stepped on the scales this morning at 319! That's 70 lbs. since surgery 11/26. Man I am really starting to feel great again. I am within 30lbs. of what I weighed when I played football in college. I am also down from 5x shirts to 2x. I went to Walmart to buy new underwear and actually got them in XL! My advice is for everyone to MOVE MOVE MOVE. I was fairly lucky that I had relatively few co-morbidities (just high blood sugar), but it still hasn't been a cake walk. I started the week after surgery and was barely able to walk a mile and a half. Now I am doing 3 miles on the bike to warm up, lifting, and then running 2.5 miles for cardio. Not even close to where I need be yet but man I have come a long way! My new goal: I am going to do the Rock and Roll Half Marathon in 2009. Thanks to everyone else for uplifting stories and encouragement. 300lbs: You are in my scope and I am taking you down!

I had weight loss surgery. I did it the easy way.

That half marathon is my favorite!!!  I would love to run it with out doing a run/walk method... but alas. Its a FUN FUN race.... Lots of crowd support.   When you do the race just a heads up that the last 4 or 5 miles are H O T .... so stay hydrated! CONGRATS on your 70 pounder
