Hit the 70lb. mark this morning!
Stepped on the scales this morning at 319! That's 70 lbs. since surgery 11/26. Man I am really starting to feel great again. I am within 30lbs. of what I weighed when I played football in college. I am also down from 5x shirts to 2x. I went to Walmart to buy new underwear and actually got them in XL!
My advice is for everyone to MOVE MOVE MOVE. I was fairly lucky that I had relatively few co-morbidities (just high blood sugar), but it still hasn't been a cake walk. I started the week after surgery and was barely able to walk a mile and a half. Now I am doing 3 miles on the bike to warm up, lifting, and then running 2.5 miles for cardio. Not even close to where I need be yet but man I have come a long way!
My new goal: I am going to do the Rock and Roll Half Marathon in 2009.
Thanks to everyone else for uplifting stories and encouragement.
300lbs: You are in my scope and I am taking you down!
Way to go!!!! YOU ROCK!!!
And I'll be there with you....I'm doing it this year and more than likely next year, too! Maybe the marathon instead of the 1/2 marathon....hhuummmmmmm......maybe a new goal????
Ok...gotta get through this one first....
See ya on the road!!!!!
