Well I hate to be the one to tell you this but it may not change  and you know you are not really hungry - it is a habit - head hunger  - and you need to find a way to break it  or save some snack for late night.......  The surgery does not cure our heads sadly........ but there are lots of strategies for dealing with it....you just have to find the one that is right for you...... padlock ing the fridge and cupboards works best  ;-)) Jackie

Good am Brandi -  Jackie's right...it will be head hunger. We all have and/or will face that & its important to listen to your body & feelings your body will give you regarding being full & when you have those thoughts about running for a snack; sip, sip, sip, read a book, exercise, etc. IF you MUST have it then choose something healthy to snack on. Its a big change & we are here to support ya. All best.....

Yep...head hunger and it's a B*TCH! Unfortunately, this is an area that you will have to work very hard.  I'm a snacker and it's hard, because I'm not hungry, I just get an idea for something and constantly think about it until I get it.

I was a horrible night snacker. I do all the cooking in our house, so I would usually warm up whatever was left from dinner. Again, as everyone has said, it is head hunger and it doesn't go away. Luckily your new stomach will be so small that if you fall off the train (and you will) you can't do that much damage to your progress). Now I am not sure if everyone else got this benefit but it is how I stopped snacking at night. I used to be a horrible night owl. Once I got the kids and wife to bed I'd stay up until 1 or 2 working, surfing the net, whatever. Since the surgery, while I have more energy during the day, I hit a wall around 9 and am usually asllep by 10 (which was prime snacking time).

Yea I never seen my late night snacking as much of a problem because I dont go to bed untill the wee hours of the morning so it;s not as if I go right to sleep on a full stomach. So I guess Im hoping that my energy through the day will have me in bed early too! Im a carb girl at night time...I cant wait to get something heavy in me...crackers, or wheat thins...sometimes sweet's. Lately Ive been trying to eat fruits knowing that they may get rid of my sweet tooth...but we'll see ")

One other thing is to feed the beast a little bit. It's hard to go totally cold turkey. I reward myself at night with something that doesn't set me back but that contributes to the greater good. I have found that when my fluids are down, the hunger beast re-appears. So, I keep drinking as much as I can during the day (Boy, in another context, that would be a HORRIBLE sentence!). At night, after dinner but before bed, when I am catching up on work or surfing the net, I'll have a sugar free popsicle or some sugar free hot chocolate (make sure to check the label for sugar and sugar alocohols ,though--some can zap you even though they say sugar fee). In reality I am contributing to my fluids for the day but I feel like I am getting a taste treat. Just remember: It's all a mind game.

It may change it may not.  Planning ahead will be a great defense.  Set aside that "snack time" as maybe exercise time.  Get some great videos that you can work out at home with.  Or balance your day to put a snack in at night.  Choosing a healthy snack will also help.  Maybe put a protein drink in the night time slot.  The fact that you are working on it now & asking the questions is a great step toward getting prepared.
