MY SOCK HOP THOUGHTS :)

Hello friends from Virginia!! First. THANK YOU to those that came and supported our event. Total count for the weekend was 45 attendees, and like I said, If 80 people gather or 10, it doesn't matter. What is important is what is taken away and put in..inspiration - love - joy - friendships - and...support. You are all beautiful and I thank you for allowing me to share in your journey's. For those of you either too shy to attend, or perhaps staying away because of what others think of our events, please give one of our conferences a try. We had a fabulous Expo with amazing samples...national speakers that were authors, one of the states leading plastic surgeons, inspirational speeches on transfer addictions from one of our group, and an awesome session on "Best Practices" where we learned so much about each other and how to work with the new life we have chosen, and Jill & Jon sharing their amazing "couples" story filled with love, hope and faith. The "Sock Hop" was so much fun! Everyone in '50's style costumes - it was truly a time to dance and celebrate ourselves. We ROCK (and roll! lol) It's always hard to say goodbye on Sunday - but please don't let it be the end of anything - just another footstep on your journey of good friend, good laughs, good love and good health. I look forward to seeing you all again soon :) David ps: Special thanks to Tink for her help, friendship and love. I miss you already!! :)

Is that our own David Travolta??? What a Type A, wideopen fun kinda guy you are. The quiet reserve, everything is under control David is pretty impressive too. Maybe you can use the lack of electricty not makng you powerless in a motivational talk sometime???  I might.  I noticed you behind the scences, fixing things and making sure things were right and keeping people calm and involved. You wear many hats well. Thanks for a great weekend with fun, friends, knowledge, and personal growth.

Joe - TOTAL TYPE A here - as you noticed - lol. I take these events very seriously and being the control freak I know I am and don't ever apologize for...lol - I always have one eye and one ear on everything going on around me...Trust me, it's exhausting being me, but I am used to it. From the song that is played the second the ballroom doors open to the way I want the fruit on the buffet cut - I try to put a personal and meaningful touch on everything...especially when it comes to these wls gatherings. But you also noticed I like to cut loose with the best of them! Next time I want you shaking your money maker on the dance floor buddy! :)  David

I am so decompressing .. I cried all the way home . I just got off the phone with Jill D... she and I are meeting this weekend after her surgery to do ... Guess what ..

Start planning for next year !!!

So many have already emailed me saying how great it was and that they will be back for ALL of our events .  I second what you said about what people say about our events . It shows in all that we do , how we care, the work and effort that goes on behind the scenes . The people that attended this year so far have sent to me , and expressed to me how awesome it was .. and how many wow moments they had . It saddens me when those that want to come can't .. or those that think this is a festival of sorts .. and stay away due to those analogies . We know .. our attendees know .. AND the justification to all of this in in our attendees great times... their special moments .. and most of all ..what they take away from the events ...  I urge all of the support group leaders .. and life coaches to take advantage of our speakers this weekend . Bug them .. call them .. write to them . Katie and Merri both offered to help .  I am so sad it is over .. but ready to start planning .. and thinking about summer .. God knows with the weather .. it is a good thought .  I love you David .. and I am again .. so thankful that we are WHO we ARE ..and we DO what WE DO!  Always your Tink !

David, Thank you so much. If it weren't for all of your time and effort...and Nat's......this would not have happened. You  two are the most wonderful people I have meet on this journey. I will definately be attending more functions. I had a blast. I am already talking to the hubby about attending the next one with me. Take care and thank you for all your time, effort and caring for all of us.

Thanks David and Nat: I'm a newby and this was my first conference - it was fabulous! I learned so much and was able to sample new products, which is always cool. Also, thanks for starting the Saturday only registration - due to conflicts that was the only way I could attend. Looking forward to next year. BJ

I attended the Disco Ball conference last year and that was my first one. I was not sure what to expect, but was glad I attended. This year's conference was the next step up, in terms of speakers, participant activities and relevant topics. I was very impressed and pleased at what I took away (both in terms of supportive information and human connections). While it is often up to the participant to get as much (or as little) from an event like this as possible, it helps when the foundation of a great event is in place. David and Natalie - congrats to both of you and I am looking forward to the next gathering. Mary
