I am 3 years out and down 115 lbs.  I haven't gained any substantial weight, and what I have gained the dr said was normal, but I am so scared that I am going to go back to the old me.  I seem to be able to eat more than I used to.  Any suggestions on how to jump start myself again???

Its all in the original instructions basics; protein first (40 gms a day minimum and that not enough to function in day-to-day life), water (64 oz a day minimum; 1-2 oz  at a time; no guzzling), and move (walk ride a bike, ellipitical, aerobics, TV video, swim, anything you like but find something to move). Avoid fats and sugars (if the fat calories are more than a third of the total calories;don't eat it) Be good.  to be doen 115 and out three years, you must have done OK, just stay with what got you there.  This isn't a diet where yo can succeed then go back to the same old bad habit.  The old bad habits will also return you to your old obese self.  You deserve better. Is it really worth it?  Nothing tastes as good as being thin????

Sundae ,  It is so common to feel this way . I was so scared to regain . What helped me was keeping a picture of the old me near by . I refuse to go back . If I feel like I am not following my program . I go back to basics . Just like Joe said . PROTEIN - WATER AND EXERCISE .. these are the key to getting back on track and staying on track .  You must keep yourself accountable for all that you do to prevent weight gain . You have to be able to  identify what triggers those moments when you become weak . Once you discover them , you can look for ways to avoid them .  If nothing else , think about all the health issues that come with being Obese . You know in your heart that you do not want to go back there . Just keep your eye on the prize . And that prize is YOU .. You have lost a lot of weight .. 115 pounds is Awesome .. be proud of that .. and get determined to be the BEST YOU CAN BE !  Take care and know we are here for you !  Tink  PS . If you would like my help , I would be more than happy to give you some worksheets and other hints to help you .

Sundae-

Basically as Joe said...go back to basics.  Water, Protein, Exercise......

Use fitday.com to log in all of your food intake so you can see your triggers, be accountable and to watch your intake.  Go back to weighing/measuring all of your food.......At over 2 years out, I still do this every day so I can monitor my serving sizes.

Also, I went to WallyWorld and bought a Correll Wear salad plate (It's 8.5" in size) and that's what I eat from.  Having a smaller plate (actaully a normal size plate) has visually helped me keep my portions at normal size as well. Monitor your fluid intake to ensure that you are getting in your fluids on a daily basis.  How about vitamins???  Are you taking your vitamins? And the most important peice of advice I can offer is come here....post what your workout plans are...ask questions....heck, just post to make yourself accountable.  But, know that we are ALL here for you! Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Thanks Jill,  (and Joe and Tink!)      It's nice to know that there is someone I can still reach out to!  I think I will try the fitday.com thing.  Making myself monitor what I eat will help alot!  I keep up on all my vits religiously, and my fluid intake is adaquate, it's the actual eating that scares me!  I really do need to exercise more though...Thanks, all of you, for being there!!
