Thanks DB - I think I need to slow my horses and be patient... and stick with what works... I just get so frustrated and bored which leads to an unhappy Manda... all Learning I suppose right!? The "heating thing" well.. I meant to type since hitting solid foods...  I do think your right about giving my pouch more time to empty... I think that makes a huge difference.

Amanda- Sorry to be late to the show here, but I'm just catching up a bit.  You mentioned in your post abotu heating solid foods...this brought to mind that I really struggled with leftovers early on. I could NOT get them down....freshly made they were fine, but something about reheating them didn't set well with me and it would come back up.  Also, really be sure to watch the pace and the chewing. You may also want to try a variety of solids. Early on I could NOT tolerate chicken well, but beef was fine (which is opposite from most people I hear).  It gets easier....be kind to your body....three weeks sounds early to be going for the solids, but I also know that everyone has a slightly different program to follow. Heck, Courtney and I have the same Dr. and Nut. and we are on different eating plans due to our individual needs! :-)  If this issue persists, you may want to reach out to your Dr. and get his advice.

I do need to slow down and take it easy... I guess Im so craving being "normal" per say... what ever THAT is.. HA!  My doc has what I call an "agressive" eating schedule.. in the sense that by day 21 I am on a "trial" food (solid) meaning trying one to two new things a day.  I am not allowed crunchies until week 4 and no almonds, broccoli or anthing that doesn't mush with water for 3 months.. that means corn too which is my fav...  I should count my lucky stars I can tolerate eggs and chicken.. beef.. ummm not so much so far...

Funny all the lessons you have to learn and habits to "break" or rearrange and stuff.. things I did before I never even knew until I do them now...

WILD ride, eh!?

Such a good attitude.  Thanks for not getting upset with my coarseness. Some good news,.... I still eat in front of the TV because I get bored waiting between swallows so I use a 30 min show or the commercial breaks to pace myself for 30-60 mins for a meal.  I know 30 mins is the golden standard but I do go 60 sometimes if it is something that I know is suppose to be working like fish or pasta with cheese but IF I go to fast its coming back up.  I am still talking 4-6 oz serving size, even at 16 months, 8 oz total is a big meal over 45-60 mins. Warming or reheating foods.  I got sick once off reheated fish or checken and my Nut educated me that reheating/warming the food, especially in the microwave dries the food and then it gets stuck.  Solution, espcially in the microwave, I sprinkle with water or rinse nder the facet before reheating.  It really makes a difference.  In the microwave, you can also put the food in a covered tupperware type container or microwaveable plastic pouch/bag that helps to retain the moisture.  You can also use low calorie and sugar free sauces like lemon or lime juice, BBQ sauce, some ****tail sauces that provide moisture and flavor.   And my last cherished tidbit of experience,  if something starts churning after a couple of bites, back off and take a swallow or two of water then wait a few minutes.  It usually helps to hasten it through and avoids the need to barf in public places, if you haven't take in too much of the offending substance.  And if you havetaken in too much, the water will hasten it coming back up so be prepared and you will learn bby experience how to use this knowledge to your advantage.  This also helps me with dumping.  I ate some SF icecream once and it went down OK.  I did it a few days later before going to a meeting and 1 hour later (almost to the minute) I though I was going to have to excuse myself to lay down.  I made it to the first meeting break and got to a water fountain.  After acouple of swallows I stood in the hallway pondering if I cold contiue or if I shold excuse myself.  Within 5 minutes I was feeling better. Now,....you are smart girl and will understand this information is emergency procedure for bad situations and not ways to undercut eating stuff we should be to be successful.  You would never do that,...... All the best, enjoy your adventure, the good stuff is yet to come.
