I am kinda apprehensive about posting this. Now that I have met some of the men, just incase they read this. Anyhoo........The last 4 or 5 months my cycle has been progressivly later and later. One month I started on the 9th, next 12, next 20th. This month nothing yet. They also are lasting longer, but not heavier.  The last 4 nights I have woke up drenched in sweat. I freeze. I have to have 3 or 4 blankets when I sleep to keep warm. Could I..........is it possible that a women as "young" as me could possibly be going through ..........dare I say the nasty word.............menapuse.  Does anyone know if there is a blood test to see if hormones are changing or something? Sorry if this TMI.

When you go through the drastic weightloss as you have, your body looses it stores of estrogen and progesterone in your fat loss. This happens a lot . I would go to your gyneocologist and let them know what is going on . They can do blood work to determine if you are low .   I had a hysterectomy when I was 20 .. but I had estrogen stored in my fat . When I lost the fat .. I had to go on estrogen .. i have since come off it .. and feeling much better .  But get to your gyno .. they will get you back to norm !  Tink

Oh Yea .. it stores all kinds of hormones , cortisol , estrogen .. etc...  I had such a problem with my cortisol levels through my weight loss .  And yes .. you must get your check ups ..  I had precarcinoma at 20 .. ended up with  complete hysterectomy ... I used to think that being I did not have the organs .. why bother .. well .. cancer has no mercy on any part of us .. So I get my check ups .  Keep me posted ..  Hugs,  TInk

Not knowing how old (or young!) you are, I can't really speak to the menopause issue, but I can echo what Natalie said....our horomones get all out of whack for awhile due to the changes our bodies are going through. My cycle has also lengthed...up to around 34 days now, but it's also changed flow patterns a bit too. I've been to the gyno, more often than most for other reasons, and so far all is considered "normal" based on the changes.  As for freezing and using more blankets....remember, you're losing a "blanket" of fat that used to keep you warm....but your body is very good at warming itself up when we sleep...which may be why you wake up sweating...try cutting back on the blankets....your body will do its job ususally...at least that's my expereince.  Hope that helps.

Christinia, I am gonna be the big  Four O soon. So I guess I'm not as young as I think. I will try sleeping with fewer blankets. I just hate to go to sleep with that cold feeling. Thanx for the info.

Hi, I read your profile and you are not too young to be going through the dreaded M word. You might want to discuss this your mother and sisters if you have them as well, because they can be good indicators of what age you will start going through it. Fortunatly, I have 4 older sisters who have been there before me so were able to give me good info, but your doctor can only tell you for sure. You just learn to go with the flow, so to speak. Best of luck, Pam

Definately go to the doc.  As we chatted the other day, another issue that you could be fighting is the low body fat.  Low body fat will wreck your body, too. I've got another one coming on and it's only been 2 weeks....UGH!  So, I'm having to make an appointment myself. But...I'm sure that they can figure it out.

Hey Jill, I will be calling the dr tomorrow. I guess I shouldn't ***** about not having one, huh? It's just that I feel younger than I am. The weight loss and my young children make me feel like I am in my 20's.........ok maybe early 30's. LOL  By the way. I haven't smoked in 3 days. I went by someone that was smoking and thought......God that smells awful. Wish me luck.
