DRINKING WINE
Ginger ,
Not sure what you are asking .
1. There is no info on your profile . What kind of surgery did you have ?
2. Any Trouble 4 Years Out .. what are you asking here ?
If you are trying to see if any of us drink ?
My surgeon says no alcohol . However , we are all grown ups and know the consequences of this and our new stomachs .
Can you introduce yourself maybe .. and then we can see exactly what you are looking for here .
Thanks,
Tink

Basically it would be your choice on this. Most all of us say their surgeons say no alcohol for several different reasons. 1. wasted calories, no real nutritional value. 2. Our systems are different & we absorb different, the alcohol affects us differently. 3. In some cases it could become an issue with transfer addiction. 4. depending on your surgery there could be dumping issues.
I will occassionally have a drink but it is very rare & usually only one very weak drink at that. I was never a big drinker before surgery either. Just not something that really appeals to me.
If you have been able to ignore it for 4 years I would stay don't start now - I was never much of a drinker before surgery and I haven't touched it since surgery - nor will I - I saw a video once on the effect alcohol can have on our liver after surgery and that scared me to death - so no alcohol for me - period....... besides it really is empty calories and we don't need those.....
Just my opinion.......
