Staple Club (NoVA Support Group) has a new home!!!!

Here is a copy of the notice I got from Sally, the nutritionist that runs the group.  I am extremely excited because this means I can come back to support group.  I am so looking forward to being back at a regular meeting & being able to share the journey with others.  Hope to see all of you locals there.  If any of you happen to talk with some of the locals (Cathy & Rich, Donna Mae) who once attended this group, would you please pass on the info.  Looking forwarding to seeing some familiar faces & meeting some new people. STAPLE CLUB 2008 SCHEDULE Location:  Sully Governmental Center, James McDonnell Room Address:  4900 Stonecroft Boulevard, Chantilly, VA  20151 Time and Day:  2nd Monday of the month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Contact person:  Sally Myers, RD, CPT    703-859-6045, [email protected] Directions:  Take route 66 to Route 28 North.  Take the Westfield Blvd. West exit off Route 28 North (approximately 2 miles).  Make your first right on Stonecroft Blvd.  The Government Center will be on your immediate left.  Enter through the main doors in the front of the building, the room is to the right. It is a privilege to use this room.  Do not loiter in the hallway or lobby outside the room. These areas must be kept clear at all times.  Come directly to the room and come on in.  We do not want to lose this privilege. There will be clothing exchanges at all meetings.  Staple Club is open to gastric bypass patients regardless of surgeon.  Friends and family are welcome!  In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be cancelled. We will be planning the rest of the year's schedule at the first meeting so bring along your ideas and suggestions.  I have already reserved this room for the holiday social for Friday, December 5th from 7 to 11:00 p.m.  Dr. Anez will be attending the March meeting. the group had the name long before I even thought about WLS.  I belive Sally came up with it but I have no idea what the story behind it is. 

That's GREAT!  So glad to hear that you are getting a support group - they are very important!

Well they had the group all along, I was a ready participant but then there were some schedule & location changes that conflicted with my work schedule so I was not able to keep attending.  Now that they are moving to a new day & location I am back in the saddle.  I am stoked.

I am so excited that there is a meeting place.  Cannot wait to see everyone there.

Thanks for posting this. I'm having surgery in March, and will need a group!  Since I've been on and off lurking/posting here for two years, I feel familiar with someof you and your stories and you've all been so welcoming and helpful to me. 

I love the Staple Club group and there are quite a few of us that attend this one.  Hope to see you on Monday!!!!
