Ok guys I need your advice
Dearest Priss,
Good stuff from the post but I'd like to take a different approach that may also be a factor.
I anm not familiar with your medical situation but the Lasix fluid pill cut back may cause you to retain some fluid temporarily as your kidneys make an adjustment to the change. Much like your body with weight loss and plateaus, your kidneys are adjusting to the change which is why the doctor didn't njust have you stop taking the fluid pills all at once. Lasix is poewerful stuff and can cause kidney damage if abused (I had one that stopped when they cold turkeyed me off after WLS).
If the grazing and snacking isn't the problem and the gain is a direct results of the fluid pill reduction, I'd recommend giving it a few days to a week to level off. You will actually feel better too as the fluid pill robs you of potassium and magnesium you might otherwise be getting plenty of or benefiting from. Lack of potassium and magnesium can cause feelings of depression and dizziness, weak knee/fainint symptons, and fatigue,...depending on the degree of shortage and for how long it exists.
Have a glorious day and thanks for being one of us losers!
Joe thanks you are so sweet, my lasixs has been cut for sometime but I have not been going to the bathroom like I think I should either for sometime. It was brought to my attention a while back how do you drink all that coffee and sit here? I was like I dont know I just do. And the lady said Ive been to the bathroom 4 times and Ive had 2 cups and you have had like 5 cups already. lol I know TMI but I have noticed it that the water intake and I dont go as often as I was w/ the 20 mg so I think I need to call the PCP. And before when I wore socks I didnt have the rings around the ankles and now I do again so I think there is a water retetion problem as well as other things going on too. But thanks so much for your kind words and support means alot. : )
