Ulcers and Strictures...

What do ya'll know about them? Do you know  how they start?  What the symptoms are? Is it possible with them to be ok one day and not so the next few?  My symptoms have returned (vomitting and nausea) so I think my doc is going to do an EGD. I can't help but feel ... well... foolish and a bit guilty (sad I know) ... All the docs thought it was a virus. Dr E did say if they returned, (this was Tuesday) it could be a stricture and an ulcer.. its just weird how one day clear liquids are fine, the next ... not so much...  I just would hate to be going through all of this and find nothing again like they did when I was at the ER... but I know what's happening and I can't control how often or anything... *sigh* I have documented everything since last Tuesday (at the ER) so...Could it be meds? Could it be me?  So strange....  Any infromation, greatly appreciated..

I have no direct info on strictures or ulcers but I suggest you PM Kat & Lisa as they have both gone or are going through it.  If you are doing clear liquids & it is happening it sounds more like a stricture to me (I am not a dr) usually an egd can open it up & sometimes you have to have a second or third one. Easy to treat but a pain to go through.  Don't feel guilty or foolish, you did right by contacting the docs & they are trying to treat it.  Definitely get that egd scheduled and save yourself from not knowing & get it diagnosed & fixed.  Prayers coming your way.

Thanks Bonnie... I've left a message for the Doc's office.. the thing that is really upsetting about all of this is that I was suppose to start an accelerated professional development program at work and I have to bow out.  I know I shouldn't feel guilty, or sad, but I can' t help but be dissapointed that I can't be in the program, I wonder how this will effect my boss, my job... Ive missed almost a week of work now ... im such a worry wort.. I wonder if stress/anxiety can heighten issues....  I pray for peace of mind and have to keep in mind that everything happens for a reason....

====================================================================== Yes darlin', stress will certainly make an ulcer feel worse :(  Try not to dwell on the job issue--we all need a healthy and happy Amanda. After all, isn't this part of the reason for WLS? Granted the road is bumpy right now. I've asked my fairy godmother to wave her magic wand for you.  And I'm keeping you in my prayers. Hugs, Jen
